- Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made four changes after an emphatic 5-0 victory over Ross County last weekend was succeeded by a sole goal success against Aberdeen at Pittodrie in their midweek match against the Dons.
- Kasper Schmeichel continued in goal behind a back four of Alex Valle, Auston Trusty who replaced Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston. Luke McCowan was superb last Saturday against the Staggies but made way for the midweek matchwinner Reo Hatate in midfield.
- Captain Callum McGregor and Paulo Bernardo also started in the middle of the park at Pittodrie. Daizen Maeda was joined by the incoming Nicholas Kühn, replacing James Forrest, in support of Kyogo Furuhashi in attack as Adam Idah dropped onto the bench.
- Hibernian manager David Gray named just one change to the Hibs team that took part in a mental midweek match against Aberdeen which ended 3-3 in Edinburgh, before the Hibees recorded a massive 3-0 victory against Motherwell at Fir Park.
- Goalkeeper Jordan Smith kept his place between the sticks. Jack Iredale joined Rocky Bushiri, who proved the Hibs hero against Aberdeen, and Warren O'Hora in the Hibees' backline. Nicky Cadden kept his place at left wing-back.
- Chris Cadden replaced Lewis Miller on the right hand-side in their only alteration. Nectarios Triantis and Joe Newell remained in the middle of the pitch. Elie Youan and Junior Hoilett looked to support lone striker Mykola Kuharevich in attack.
