Costa not interested in China switch

Chelsea striker Diego Costa does not want a move to China, according to ESPN.

Reports on Friday night suggested the striker had a huge falling out with manager Antonio Conte, leading to rumours that the Spaniard could leave for the Far East.

Costa would be handed a yearly wage of £30m a year to move to China and would have been the fourth player to swap west London for China in the last 12 months after Ramires, Oscar and John Obi Mikel.

However, the 28-year-old insists he is not looking to leave for the Chinese Super League, despite rumours suggesting he would look to depart Chelsea this month.

Costa came close to leaving the Blues last summer, with a return to Atletico Madrid mooted, but was convinced to stay by Conte.

The frontman’s current deal runs until 2019, so Chelsea are under no pressure to sell Costa this month, while recent reports suggested the club were keen to tie him down to a new deal.

Chelsea are understandably keen to retain the striker, who has 14 Premier League goals to his name this season.
