Kane spearheads Premier League team of the week dominated by Tottenham

Tottenham put a turbulent week behind them as they smashed Crystal Palace 4-0 at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night, and the north London side dominate the team of the week. Elsewhere, there is space in the XI for representatives of Brentford, Aston Villa, Brighton, Leeds and Wolves.

Hugo Lloris (Tottenham) - 8.10

Tottenham are the dominant side in the Premier League team of the week following their resounding 4-0 win at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. It wasn't all plain sailing for Spurs, however, who needed Hugo Lloris to put in a big performance between the sticks to guarantee all the spoils. He made four saves at Selhurst Park, including a vital stop to deny Jordan Ayew in the first half, to help make the XI with a WhoScored rating of 8.10.

Matt Doherty (Tottenham) - 8.58

Given the furore surrounding Tottenham's right wing-back issues, Matt Doherty gave a good account of himself in the 4-0 win at Crystal Palace, as he returned a WhoScored rating of 8.58. Doherty netted Spurs' third midway through the second half, scoring with one of four shots, and he defended solidly, too, making four tackles, one interception and one clearance.

Ethan Pinnock (Brentford) - 7.71

Brentford earned an impressive 3-1 win over Liverpool earlier in the week, with Ethan Pinnock shining in the Bees backline. Pinnock was so often in the right place at the right time to alleviate pressure on the Brentford goal as he made 11 clearances against the Reds. The 29-year-old also won four aerial duels, and made two interceptions and one tackle, to make the cut with a WhoScored rating of 7.71.

Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa) - 7.48

Partnering Pinnock at the heart of the backline in the team of the week is Aston Villa's Tyrone Mings. He registered the assist for Danny Ings' equaliser in Villa's 1-1 draw with Wolves in midweek, and he worked hard to keep the Wolves offensive at bay as he made four clearances and two interceptions to yield a WhoScored rating of 7.48.

Ivan Perisic (Tottenham) - 7.92

The third Spurs player in the team completes the defence with Ivan Perisic featuring at left-back. The experienced Croat provided the assist for Harry Kane's opener at Selhurst Park, that coming from his only key pass in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, while the Eagles offensive struggled to get the better of Perisic, who made two interceptions, two clearances and one tackle to help earn a WhoScored rating of 7.92.

Solly March (Brighton) - 8.82

Brighton piled further misery upon Everton in midweek as they romped to a 4-1 win at Goodison Park. Solly March won the WhoScored man of the match award in that victory with a rating of 8.82 as he scored the Seagulls' third shortly after the restart. March got the better of Pickford with one of four shots, and attacked the Toffees backline well as he made one key pass and completed one dribble to cap a fine showing on Merseyside.

Wilfried Gnonto (Leeds) - 8.05

In a relegation six-pointer at Elland Road, the spoils were shared as Leeds came from behind to rescue a point against West Ham. Wilfried Gnonto put the home side ahead midway through the first half, finding the back of the net with one of two shots, and the Hammers struggled to contain the teenage Italian, who completed three dribbles and was fouled three times. Gnonto also made three tackles and is good value for his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 8.05.

Son Heung-Min (Tottenham) - 8.26

The penultimate Spurs player in the XI, Son Heung-Min has come under criticism from supporters this season, yet managed to get on the scoresheet in their 4-0 win at Crystal Palace, netting his side's fourth in the 72nd minute. Son beat Vicente Guaita with one of two shots, and worked hard off the ball to disrupt the Palace backline as he made two tackles and one interception, returning a WhoScored rating of 8.26 in the process.

Daniel Podence (Wolves) - 7.86

Daniel Podence was withdrawn at half time in Wolves' 1-1 draw at Aston Villa due to injury, in what could prove a huge blow for Julen Lopetegui's side. Podence fired Wolves ahead early in the first half, as he struck with his only shot of the game, but was a thorn in the Villans' side in the opening 45 minutes, as he made three tackles and completed one dribble to feature on the left with a WhoScored rating of 7.86.

Harry Kane (Tottenham) - 9.69

The fifth and final Tottenham player in the team of the week, and we've saved the best for last. Harry Kane is the player of the week having earned a WhoScored rating of 9.69 at Selhurst Park. Kane bagged a second half brace in south London as he rattled in goals number 14 and 15 for the campaign, netting with two of four shots. The 29-year-old was unfortunate not to register an assist, too, as he created three goalscoring chances, while five aerial duels won and two successful dribbles saw the Spurs star mark his 300th Premier League appearance in style.

Evan Ferguson (Brighton) - 8.23

Joining Kane on the frontline is Brighton's teenage forward Evan Ferguson. On his first ever Premier League start, Ferguson put in a fine showing for the Seagulls, with the teenager directly involved in two of their four goals at Everton. The 18-year-old followed up his goal shortly after the break with the assist for Solly March, those coming from respective returns of four shots and one key pass, as the Brighton striker landed a WhoScored rating of 8.23 on a full Premier League debut he'll never forget.
