Chelsea academy sensation features in U21 Team of the Month

Once again, Jude Bellingham is the U21 player of the month in Europe's top five leagues as the Real Madrid star continues to thrive. Elsewhere, stars from Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Athletic Club all make the cut as we run through the full XI.

Lucas Chevalier (Lille) - 7.02

Only Marcin Bulka (4) kept more clean sheets than Lucas Chevalier (3) in Ligue 1 last month as the young Lille shotstopper conceded just the once in October. With 11 saves to his name, the 21-year-old features between the sticks in this XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.02.

Yan Couto (Girona) - 7.13

Two of the three assists Yan Couto has provided this season came in October as the Brazilian was directly involved in two goals. Both came in wins for the La Liga side as the surprise title contenders maintained their fine start to the season. Those came from seven key passes and that helped the right-back to a WhoScored rating of 7.13.

Murillo (Nottingham Forest) - 7.21

After joining from Corinthians in August, Murillo came into the heart of the Nottingham Forest defence in October and did little wrong. The Brazilian youngster averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.21 across his four outings as he ranked second for clearances (25) in the Premier League in October.

Levi Colwill (Chelsea) - 7.18

While he featured twice at left-back on October, Levi Colwill has since returned to centre-back alongside Thiago Silva. Chelsea's results may not have been to standard yet the young Englishman has been solid as noted by a WhoScored rating of 7.18.

Bradley Locko (Brest) - 7.22

Bradley Locko kicked off October with a first player of the match award of the season and has put in a series of steady shifts for Brest. No player made more tackles than Locko (18) in France's top tier last month as the 21-year-old once again shone.

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) - 8.01

Once again, Jude Bellingham is the U21 player of the month having returned a WhoScored rating of 8.01 in October. Bellingham scored four goals across three appearances last month, including a brace in Saturday's 2-1 El Clasico win at Barcelona. The youngster also chipped in with 10 tackles and interceptions combined.

Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich) - 7.93

Jamal Musiala has been directly involved in just four league goals this season but three of those came in October as the Germany international provided an assist in Bayern's 3-1 win at Mainz before netting twice in Saturday's 8-0 demolition job of lowly Darmstadt. Despite starting only two of three games, Musiala still ranked sixth for successful dribbles in the Bundesliga in October.

Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) - 7.71

In yet another attack-minded midfield, Florian Wirtz rounds off the trio in the middle of the park. Like Musiala, Wirtz also completed eight dribbles in October, and earned his second player of the match award of the season last month, that coming in a 2-1 win over Freiburg. With two goals and one assist to his name, the German is good value for his WhoScored rating of 7.71.

Matias Soule (Frosinone) - 8.00

Matias Soule continues to go from strength-to-strength during his loan spell with Frosinone. The Argentine scored four times in October and earned two WhoScored player of the match awards as he again nailed down the right wing spot with a rating of 8.00.

Maximilian Beier (Hoffenheim) - 7.16

Leading the charge once more is Hoffenheim hitman Maximilian Beier. The 21-year-old scored goals number five and six for the season in October as he maintained his excellent form in the final third to help land a WhoScored rating of 7.16.

Nico Williams (Athletic Club) - 7.42

Nico Williams ranked among the top five players for both key passes (9) and successful dribbles (9) in La Liga last month to round off the XI. While Williams only registered one assist in October, it evidently wasn't for want of trying as the Athletic Club winger completes the team with a WhoScored rating of 7.42.
