West Ham 0-1 Wolves Ratings Explained: Super sub Traore the star man

Wolves left it late to record their first win of the season, with Adama Traore's injury time goal sealing all three points in a 1-0 win over West Ham...

WEST HAM - 6.56

Lukasz Fabianski - 7.52 - Was unlucky to be on the losing side as he made five saves in the 1-0 loss. Another solid showing from the Pole, who was again let down by his outfield teammates.

Ryan Fredericks - 6.36 - Pressed forward where possible, but struggled when he got into the final third. Made just one key pass and struggled to retain possession, returning a 63.4% pass success rate.

Fabian Balbuena - 7.50 - Made the joint-most tackles, with six, in his best performance in a West Ham shirt. Could’ve headed the Hammers ahead, but fluffed a free header early in the second half.

Issa Diop - 6.89 - After a calamitous debut at Arsenal, the young defender put in a much-improved outing despite ending up on the losing side. A work in progress, the signs are there that there is more to come from the youngster.

Aaron Cresswell - 6.12 - Given the nod ahead of Arthur Masuaku at left-back, however, did little to suggest he warrants a regular starting spot. Struggled to keep opposite number Matt Doherty at bay.

Carlos Sanchez - 5.59 - At fault for the goal as he was caught in possession by Ruben Neves. Picked out a teammate well over the course of the match, but the game passed him by.

Jack Wilshere - 7.15 - Impressed when allowed to get forward as he completed three dribbles and completed 38 of his 39 attempted passes. Not Manuel Pellegrini’s best decision to take him off in the second half.

Robert Snodgrass - 5.98 - Anonymous afternoon for Robert Snodgrass, who has withdrawn at the interval. Only moment of note came in a free-kick that was deflected behind for a corner.

Felipe Anderson - 6.84 - We’re yet to see the best of Felipe Anderson, but he showed glimpses of his talent with a fine first half effort that was turned away by Rui Patricio.

Michail Antonio - 6.81 - Saw a second half looping header clawed off the line by Rui Patricio and provided an alternative offensive threat from wide as he won four aerial duels.

Marko Arnautovic - 6.44 - Looked isolated in the first half, but was much better with Andriy Yarmolenko in support. Forced Rui Patricio into a fine second half stop after getting the better of Conor Coady.

Subs

Andriy Yarmolenko - 6.24 - A half time introduction, West Ham looked much better with the Ukrainian on the field. Yet to get properly up to speed, but once he does, Manuel Pellegrini has an effective attacking weapon at his disposal.

Pedro Obiang - 6.36 - Came within inches of opening the scoring in the second half when urged to shoot by the home support. Was successful with two of his three attempted tackles.

Chicharito - 6.02 - Showed flashes of his quality, yet had little time to influence the match.

WOLVES - 7.11

Rui Patricio - 7.41 - Made a number of impressive saves to keep the score level either side of half time, including smart stops to deny Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic.

Ryan Bennett - 7.48 - Made four tackles and won four aerial duels with his defensive quality enabling Matt Doherty to press forward down the Wolves right.

Conor Coady - 7.04 - Not his best performance, with the centre-back getting turned inside out by Marko Arnautovic in the second half, yet a solid showing regardless.

Willy Boly - 7.37 - Looked a tad nervy in the opening exchanges, but quickly composed himself to churn out another commendable display. Made three tackles to keep the West Ham attack quiet.

Matt Doherty - 7.99 - One of the best performers on the pitch. Bombarded down the right flank well to make a joint-most three key passes as West Ham struggled to keep him in check.

Joao Moutinho - 8.05 - Spread the play exceptionally as he made six accurate long balls. Linked up commendably with Doherty down the Wolves right.

Ruben Neves - 6.52 - Won the ball that eventually led to Adama Traore’s winning goal. Like Moutinho, spread the play well, making 10 accurate long balls.

Jonny - 7.66 - Whereas Doherty was able to stretch the West Ham defence, Jonny limited the Hammes' attack, making the joint-most six tackles.

Holder Costa - 6.20 - Largely ineffective before his second half substitution, he completed two dribbles, yet at times, hindered the Wolves attack.

Raul Jimenez - 6.49 - Was a constant thorn in the side of the West Ham backline as he won four aerial duels. Fortunate that his glaring second half miss didn’t deny Wolves all the spoils.

Diogo Jota - 6.22 - Did well to get the better of Ryan Fredericks for a first half header, but wasn’t at his best before his withdrawal.

Subs

Adama Traore - 8.25 (Man of the Match) - Changed the game when he came on and scored Wolves' late winner. Completed more dribbles (5) than any other player, despite playing just half an hour. Well deserving of the man of the match award.

Leo Bonatini - 6.71 - Got the assist for Traore’s winning goal with an inch-perfect pass for the Spaniard.

Ruben Vinagre - 6.18 - Looked busy and pressured the West Ham defence in his limited time on the pitch.
