Wolves vs Liverpool betting preview - Hosts to cause problems once more

We have Friday night action in the Premier League this week as league leaders Liverpool attempt to stretch the gap at the top to five points ahead of the weekend’s fixtures and ensure they are this year’s Christmas number one.

The Reds face a tough trip to Molineux, however, with Wolves having returned to winning ways in what has been a season of highs and lows already. Following their first defeat of the season at Leicester Nuno’s side went on a six game unbeaten run before embarking on a streak of just one point from their next seven league matches. Now with three wins on the spin, it’s fair to say they’ve been a Jekyll and Hyde outfit this season.

One thing that has remained consistent in the promoted side’s campaign, however, is the problems they have cause the top teams in the division thus far. With just one defeat - a narrow 3-2 reverse to Tottenham - in five matches against the remaining sides in the current top six, Wolves have picked up some impressive results this season.

Indeed, to have a goal difference of zero over matches against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea this season is no mean feat. The double chance odds are well worth considering as a result, but a safer bet would be to back the home side to score against Jurgen Klopp’s men tonight, having done so in all five of their matches against the aforementioned teams.

Keeping their visitors at bay at the other end will prove an even tougher task though, with Liverpool having scored in each of their away games in the league this season, so the evens odds with a number of bookmakers tonight is our top tip.
