Man Utd hero McTominay makes Premier League Team of the Week
Everton are the dominant side in the Premier League team of the week following their comfortable 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday. Elsewhere, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Tottenham, Brighton, Manchester United and Fulham are also represented.
Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace) - 7.90
Sam Johnstone earned his second player of the match award of the season in Crystal Palace's 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday as the Eagles shotstopper returned a WhoScored rating of 7.90. Johnstone dealt with the Forest offensive with ease, making five saves on his way to a third successive clean sheet.
Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) - 7.67
The first of two Newcastle players, Kieran Trippier registered an assist for the fourth game running having provided for Alexander Isak on the hour mark at West Ham on Sunday. Trippier made five key passes in total in the 2-2 draw at the London Stadium, and made one tackle, to return a WhoScored rating of 7.67.
Cristian Romero (Tottenham) - 8.56
Tottenham head into the international break top of the table after their hard-fought 1-0 win at Luton on Saturday. Spurs went down to 10 men shortly before the break, with Cristian Romero leading by example at the back. The Argentine ensured the three points for the north London side with impressive returns of 12 clearances, three tackles and three interceptions in a player of the match performance that saw him yield a WhoScored rating of 8.56.
James Tarkowski (Everton) - 7.96
The first of four Everton players in the XI partners Romero at the heart of the defence. James Tarkowski put in a solid rearguard shift for the Toffees in their 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday as he made eight clearances, three tackles and one interception on home turf. An additional six aerial duels won contributes towards Tarkowski's inclusion in the XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.96.
With both Pervis Estupinan and Tariq Lamptey out, Solly March was required to play at left-back for Brighton against Liverpool. Despite coming up against Reds goal machine Mohamed Salah, March more than held his own as he made six tackles and three interceptions. His free-kick led to the assist for Lewis Dunk's second half equaliser and helped the Seagulls star to a WhoScored rating of 8.07.
Scott McTominay (Manchester United) - 8.03
Scott McTominay came on in the 87th minute against Brentford on Saturday but despite his limited time on the pitch, the Scot proved to be Manchester United's match winner. Indeed, McTominay netted twice in second half stoppage time, and managed one tackle, to return a WhoScored rating of 8.03.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (Everton) - 8.35
Abdoulaye Doucoure bagged his third league goal of the season in Everton's 3-0 win over Bournemouth, as he netted with one of five shots against the Cherries. The 30-year-old made two key passes and completed two dribbles, and worked hard off the ball as he made two tackles, to feature in the XI with a WhoScored rating of 8.35.
Remaining at Goodison Park, James Garner is the penultimate Everton player to make the XI. The 22-year-old netted in the eighth minute to set the Toffees on their way to victory as he got the better of Neto with one of four shots. Jack Harrison (Everton) - 8.56
The fourth and final Everton player in the side, Jack Harrison was directly involved in two of the Toffees' three goals against Bournemouth. The summer signing doubled Everton's advantage shortly before the break, and then turned provider on the hour mark for Doucoure to put the result beyond doubt from respective returns of four shots and one key pass.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle) - 8.81
With a WhoScored rating of 8.81, Alexander Isak is the Premier League player of the week. The 24-year-old bagged a quickfire second half double on the way to Newcastle's 2-2 draw at West Ham on Sunday, and he could have had a third having struck the woodwork with 20 minutes to play. Isak was a real thorn in the side of the Hammers backline having completed four dribbles on his way to the player of the match award.
Rounding off the XI, Willian scored his first league goal of the season as Fulham secured a comfortable 3-1 home win over Sheffield United. The experienced Brazilian beat Wes Foderingham with one of five shots at Craven Cottage, and was unfortunate not to register an assist having made three key passes. An additional three successful dribbles saw the 35-year-old earn a WhoScored rating of 8.74.
