Team News

Eintracht Frankfurt
RBL
  • Jesús Vallejo could return from injury, but will most likely start on the bench, with Bastian Oczipka filling in at centre-back again.
  • With several midfielders sidelined, Timothy Chandler could switch to the centre, with Guillermo Varela getting a chance on the right flank.
  • Branimir Hrgota is expected to start again, after Ante Rebic picked up a one-match ban last weekend.
  • Willi Orban is doubtful to recover from an ankle injury in time and could be replaced by Dayot Upamecano again.
  • Benno Schmitz and Marcel Halstenberg could return in the full-back positions to offer more pace going forward.
  • It remains to be seen if manager Ralph Hasenhüttl decides to rotate in attacking positions as well, with the likes of Dominik Kaiser, Oliver Burke and Davie Selke hoping to get a chance.

Prediction

  • Frankfurt are out of European contention after three straight defeats and have nothing to play for anymore on the final match day. They have lost ten of their 16 games in the second half of the season and struggle with their balance, with injury concerns costing them stability in the centre.
  • Leipzig lost an entertaining game 5-4 against Bayern last weekend, but have nonetheless secured second place, as Dortmund failed to win on their trip to Augsburg. The club has had a great first season in the Bundesliga and will look to put in another exciting display here.
  • Expect this to be an open game with several chances at both ends of the pitch, as both teams have no pressure anymore.
