Team News

Swindon
Milton Keynes Dons
  • James Dunne and Toumani Diagouraga serve the second of three-match bans here, so Phil Brown could revert to the midfield trio of Michael Doughty, Martin Smith and Steven Alzate.
  • Forward Kaiyne Woolery is two weeks away from a return to training, while Chris Robertson is also injured. There is good news, however, as fellow centre-back Dion Conroy recovered from minor fitness issue to make last week's bench.
  • Lawrence Vigouroux has been called up by Chile, so the experienced Luke McCormick or the youthful Will Henry compete for the No.1 spot.
  • Midfielder Conor McGrandles and wide forward Peter Pawlett are likely to be ruled out here.
  • Brandon Thomas-Asante remains sidelined but fellow forwards Sam Nombe and Osman Sow came off the bench in the midweek EFL Cup defeat at Bournemouth and should make the match-day squad here.

Prediction

  • After a chaotic last three seasons, Milton Keynes Dons appear to have turned a corner under Paul Tisdale. Last week's 1-0 win over Exeter showed there is now a savviness, a maturity and a sense of organization about the way they play.
  • By contrast, Swindon have a productive midfield but they are not necessarily a team that can yet be trusted defensively. The Robins have conceded 11 goals in their first five league games and need to show more assurance when put under pressure.
  • The visitors have won all three of the games that have seen them score first - conceding just the once - and their game management qualities could come to the fore in Wiltshire.
