Team News

Aston Villa
Everton
  • Unai Emery should keep with Lucas Digne and John McGinn on the left side with Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey remain out injured.
  • Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings look set to be out for the rest of the season following their respective ACL injuries.
  • Pau Torres should start in place of the injured captain.
  • With Leon Bailey a doubt, either Philippe Coutinho or Jaden Philogene could come in to the side in his absence.
  • Dele Alli, Dwight McNeil and Seamus Coleman are all absent for Everton this weekend.
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin could return to the Everton side after missing the opener against Fulham through injury.
  • New signing Jack Harrison will also miss out on their latest match through injury
  • Demarai Gray, who has been linked with a move away from the club, has been training away from the first team squad.

Prediction

  • Both Aston Villa and Everton will be keen to bounce back after opening day defeats in their second game.
  • The hosts were battered 5-1 by Newcastle in a match where the scoreline doesn't really reflect the nature of the game. It was relatively close throughout, but Newcastle were just that more clinical infront of goal. Moussa Diaby was a bright spark and will certainly cause some issues for the Everton defence.
  • As for the visitors, they narrowly avoided relegation last season, but there is an overarching fear that this year could be the year they sink. Years of poor recruitment seem to be catching up to them, and they will need to pick up points quickly to establish a cushion from relegation.

  • Still Watkins shot on goal are missing

  • Why James Garner free kick in 94min didn’t count as shot?

  • Everton just barely saved themselves last season from relegation, but this year they have no chance...sad for a club with such history...

  • Watkins shot on goal!!! Where is it?

  • Shot on goal to Watkins???!! Why 0 shots?

  • Put the Watkins shot on goal?!

  • Everton are shocking lmao

  • Watkins & Diaby To Do The Damage

  • Villa Win.They will be fired up to get back on track after last weeks heavy defeat at Newcastle.

  • Interesting as both coaches/teams don't need many chances to score. Both to score should be the way to go

  • Aston Villa is going to win this one 2-0 or 2-1. Warkins and Diaby scores the two goals.
