Team News

Man Utd
Nottingham Forest
  • Manchester United have no fewer than eight players absent here, including new-signing Mason Mount who will be out until the International break.
  • Steve Cooper remains without injured trio Wayne Hennessey, Omar Richards and Felipe.
  • Ola Aina is a doubt but is likely to be included following a fitness assessment.

Prediction

  • It has not been the start that Erik Ten Hag or Manchester United fans will have wanted for the Red Devils with just the one win in their opening two and an unconvincing one at that. They were on the receiving end of a barrage of Wolves chances in their opening fixture at Old Trafford but did managed to survive it though, with an unlikely Raphael Varane scoring the only goal of the game and earning all three points for the Red Devils.
  • Ten Hag's side were then beaten in their most recent fixture by Spurs despite having lots of chances of their own in the first half.
  • A last-minute goal from Chris Wood ensured that Nottingham Forest got their campaign going with a win against Sheffield United at the weekend.
  • Steve Cooper's side were narrowly beaten by Arsenal in their opening fixture in a game in which they fought back admirably after going 2-0 down to the Gunners, with Awoniyi scoring late on to set up a dramatic finish but with Forest unable to find an equaliser and ending up falling short.
