Team News

Chelsea
Nottingham Forest
  • Chelsea are without the services of nine players for the match against Nottingham Forest.
  • Reece James faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines for the Blues, with Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile among some of the other players ruled out.
  • Mykhailo Mudryk will also miss out after injury, his return is expected to be after the international break.
  • Romeo Lavia is also lacking match fitness and could feature but is a doubt.
  • Mauricio Pochettino might name an unchanged side to the team that beat Luton last weekend.
  • Steve Cooper remains without injured trio Wayne Hennessey, Orel Mangala and Felipe.
  • Ola Aina should take up the left back spot despite the arrival of Nuno Tavares.
  • Andrey Santos cannot play against his parent club Chelsea.
  • Joe Worrall is available after fulfilling his one match suspension after his red card against Manchester United in their Carabao Cup tie against Burnley.

Prediction

  • Chelsea host Nottingham Forest before the international break.
  • Despite good showings at the Emirates and Old Trafford, Forest came away from both empty handed. Their sole points remains as a win against Luton Town, but given their performances away from home, they may seek some optimism going to Stamford Bridge.
  • Chelsea bounced back from a defeat to West Ham with a win over Luton, which was to be expected. They come up against a very different opponent, one that they were unable to beat last season in their two meetings.
  • We think the Blues will have enough for Forest on this occasion, but it could be a much closer affair than many Chelsea fans think it will be.
