Team News

Cadiz
Villarreal
  • Fede San Emeterio will be unavailable through suspension and will sit this one out.
  • Gonzalo Escalante should keep his place, now cemented into the lineup since his gameweek one suspension.
  • Sergio González will likely lead with the same striking duo that earned them a 1-1 draw with Almeria.
  • Etienne Capoue returned to the team last week against Barcelona. He played well in midfield and facilitates Alex Baena playing in a more advanced role. The defensive midfielder should keep his place.
  • New signing Matteo Gabbia has started two games in a row at centre back for Villarreal; he looks to be Quique Setien's main man now in defence.
  • Yeremi Pino is back and available for selection again following his injury

Prediction

  • Visitors Villarreal seem to have found their swing after three games of the new La Liga season, despite losing 4-3 against Barcelona last week. Using the full backs to overlap, whilst narrowing their front three, has been key to scoring goals and winning games this season.
  • Cadiz, on the other hand, have been steadily solid, having only lost once so far, also against Barcelona. They will most likely stick with a low block in the game against El Submarino Amarillo, seeking to nick a goal to defend, or to see the game out for a draw.
  • It seems though that Quique Setien is comfortable now with using Alex Baena on the left side of his front three - good at bombing forward on the counter, but also creating space in and around the box when trying to unlock a defence. With the solidity of Etienne Capoue back in the side, too, Villarreal should kick on.
