Team News

Sevilla
Villarreal
  • Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas are suspended and with Loic Bade's fresh injury, Sevilla could have a selection headache in defence on Sunday.
  • Sevilla were beaten 3-2 by PSV on Tuesday evening and crash out of the Champions League this year. Their recovering squad will face some difficulty this weekend in their attempts to move in to the top half of La Liga for the first time this season.
  • Alfonso Pedraza is back to full fitness and should keep Alberto Moreno on the bench for the match against Sevilla.
  • Juan Foyth is also back to match fitness and could feature on Sunday.
  • Alexander Sorloth is still out but Jose Luis Morales is raring to go following his hat-trick last weekend.

Prediction

  • With Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas ruled out through suspension following their double sending off against Real Sociedad, along with Youssef En Nesyri being flagged as a doubt for the weekend, Villarreal have a fantastic opportunity to win two games on the trot for the first time this season under the guise of new boss Marcelino.
  • While the hosts have a problem with injury and suspension absences, the visitors have Juan Foyth and Alfonso Pedraza back in defence which could bolster their chances of first clean sheet in eight matches.
  • If Sevilla were to lose they would stay within four points off the drop, a worrying sign for new boss Diego Alonso, who is apparently under growing pressure at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
