Team News

Granada
Deportivo Alaves
  • Granada have no injuries to report as Jesus Vallejo returns to first team training - he could make the bench this weekend.
  • Sergio Ruiz has looked strong in the middle of the park despite Granada's lacklustre form, he could start over Gonzalo Villar.
  • Jon Guridi returns from his injury and should be available for selection once again in the centre of midfield.
  • Alex Sola could return for on the right side of attack - both him and Carlos Vicente are looking for their first goals in the league this season.
  • Samu is a mainstay at the striking helm, though. He could go into double figures if he finds the net against strugglers Granada.

Prediction

  • Granada welcome Alaves to Andalusia on Sunday afternoon, almost playing for pride at this point in the season as they float adrift of safety in La Liga by 14 points - A Celta Vigo victory would surely reside them to relegation this weekend. Granada are winless in eleven and haven't scored a goal since mid march. Alaves cooly dispatched the hosts in the reverse fixture, winning 3-1.
  • Alaves have struggled on the road and haven't scored in their last two matches. They last scored a goal in their 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano two weeks ago - a result which could prove vital for blue and white fans come the end of the season. Sitting 13th in the league won't knock their confidence in this one though, as their opponents on Sunday sport the worst conceded goals record in the league this season (60 G.A).
  • Alaves haven't been clinical enough recently, but they have proved strong in important games - they should come away the victors here.
