- Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers made one enforced change to the Celts side that left it late to beat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park, before a heartbreaking defeat to Lazio in similar circumstances and by the exact same scoreline on Wednesday night.
- Gustaf Lagerbielke was suspended in continental competition, after being sent off in Rotterdam against Feyenoord, so missed the midweek match which was their first in Glasgow in this season's Champions League.
- Nat Phillips took his place, with Cameron Carter-Vickers making his return to action after injury against the Italians. Luis Palma thought he'd netted the winner for the Hoops, after Kyogo Furuhashi's opener at Celtic Park.
- Derek McInnes named two changes to the Kilmarnock team that was knocked out of the Scottish League Cup losing 2-1 to Hearts at Rugby Park, before they were held at home in a 1-1 draw with high-flying St Mirren in Ayrshire on Saturday.
- Corrie Ndaba replaced Robbie Deas to start at left-back as Lewis Mayo, Joe Wright and Stuart Findlay kept their places in what looked a back four. David Watson dropped out of midfield, but could come back in for the injured Kyle Magennis.
- Midfielder Brad Lyons has scored two goals in as many games in all competitions. Innes Cameron partnered Kyle Vassell in attack, with Danny Armstrong and Matty Kennedy chosen in the wide areas.
