Motherwell
St. Mirren
- Stuart Kettlewell named just one change from Motherwell's 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Fir Park, before the Steelmen claimed their first win at Tynecastle in four years with a 1-0 victory against Hearts prior to the international break.
- Paul McGinn was sent off after two yellow cards, so will miss this match against St Mirren. The Well may be tempted to shift to a back four with Brodie Spencer, Dan Casey, Bevis Mugabi and Stephen O'Donnell playing all 90 minutes in Edinburgh.
- Former Hearts youth Harry Paton forced his way into the starting eleven, replacing Joe Efford who has left the Well. Davor Zdravkovski and Nathan McGinley came off the bench against the Jambos, alongside Oli Shaw who made his debut.
- Stephen Robinson named an unchanged St Mirren side despite being held at home in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Aberdeen, before a last-gasp equaliser saw them leave Livingston with a point in their last Scottish Premiership match.
- The Buddies are still without club captain Mark O'Hara, their influential midfielder who was named their Player of the Year last season, along with long-term absentee and star striker Jonah Ayunga who has just penned a new deal.
- Stav Nachmani was the Buddies' hero in West Lothian, netting in the 96th minute after Luiyi Perez had put Livingston in front on 89 minutes. The young Israeli, on loan from Maccabi Haifa, could be pushing for a start after his heroics against Livi.
