- Hearts boss Steven Naismith made three changes after the Jambos nicked a 1-0 victory in the Highlands against Ross County, before being held at home in the Edinburgh derby in a 2-2 draw against Hibernian at Tynecastle.
- Stephen Kingsley limped off in the derby, but Alex Cochrane has returned to training and could be thrown straight in to start against Celtic. Cammy Devlin joined Calem Nieuwenhof in the middle of the park, at Aidan Denholm's expense.
- Alex Lowry replaced Jorge Grant, playing a key role in the second goal on derby day. The opener was a stunning strike from Alan Forrest, who replaced Odel Offiah. Yutaro Oda has also returned to training and could play a part this weekend.
- Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers made two changes to the Celts side that suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Lazio in their Champions League group stage game, before a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock in their last Scottish Premiership match.
- Cameron Carter-Vickers made his return to action against the Serie A side, but was thrown in to start against Killie alongside Liam Scales at Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips' expense after his injury layoff.
- The only other alteration saw Luis Palma join Japanese duo Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi in attack. Hyun-Jun Yang was sat amongst the substitutes a fortnight ago, against Kilmarnock.
