Team News

Hibernian
Celtic
  • Hibs boss Nick Montgomery named three changes to the Hibernian team that came from two goals down to pick up a point against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in a 2-2 draw, before they were swept aside 3-0 by St Mirren at Easter Road.
  • Paul Hanlon made way for Nectarios Triantis to make his debut in defence and start alongside Will Fish at centre-back. Teenager Rory Whittaker took fellow youngster Kanayo Megwa's spot at right-back as Jordan Obita continued on the left.
  • Myziane Maolida was the Hibees' hero in Ayrshire, and was rewarded with a start against Saints last Saturday. Dylan Vente dropped onto the bench, joined by a few new recruits and Chris Cadden who had been out with a long-term injury.
  • Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers named one enforced change to the Celts side that scored a sole goal which was enough to see off Ross County at Parkhead, but only picked up a point at Pittodrie on Saturday at lunchtime.
  • Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has signed a new five-and-a-half year deal with the Hoops, is out for three weeks through injury. That meant Maik Nawrocki started alongside former Aberdeen loanee Liam Scales against the Dons at the weekend.
  • Reo Hatate is facing six weeks on the sidelines, after injuring both calves, so is unavailable. January signings Nicholas Kühn - who netted the league leaders' equaliser - and Adam Idah both came off the bench up in Aberdeen on Saturday.

Prediction

  • Hibernian host Celtic at Easter Road in midweek, as both sides were disappointed with their weekend's results and are looking to bounce back immediately.
  • Hibs were embarrassed as St Mirren came to Easter Road and scored three first half goals without reply, extending the Hibees' wait for a Scottish Premiership victory. Hibernian haven't won a league game since a 1-0 win away to Livingston back in December, directly after a 4-1 hammering at Celtic Park in midweek. Play like they did at the weekend and it could be a similar story here.
  • Celtic scraped past Ross County the weekend before last, but let Rangers in with a sniff of the Scottish Premiership title following a 1-1 draw away to Aberdeen. The league leaders remain on top spot for now, but are just three points ahead of Rangers - who have a game in hand on the Hoops. Despite hammering Hibs at home, they dropped two points at Easter Road earlier this season.
  • Brendan Rodgers is still searching for his first win at Easter Road as Celtic manager. This is a great opportunity to right the wrongs of the last few weeks, particularly given Hibernian's home performance at the weekend.
