Team News

Aberdeen
Hibernian
  • Interim Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock made four changes from the Dons progressing in the Scottish Cup at Bonnyrigg Rose's expense on Saturday afternoon, before a mental match with Motherwell in midweek ended 3-3.
  • Kelle Roos came back in between the sticks for Aberdeen, replacing Ross Doohan. Stefan Gartenmann accompanied Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie in the Dons' three-man defence, replacing Angus MacDonald.
  • Richard Jensen made way for Connor Barron to start in midfield, as Aberdeen shifted to a 3-5-1-1. Jamie McGrath supported lone striker Bojan Miovski but Duk came off the bench to save the day for the Dons, as they came from three down so could start this weekend.
  • Hibs boss Nick Montgomery named three changes to the Hibernian team that was hit by a late sucker punch against Celtic in a 2-1 loss at Easter Road, before they advanced in the Scottish Cup thanks to a 3-1 win up in Inverness on Saturday.
  • Luke Amos made his first Hibernian start in the middle of the park, accompanying Joe Newell and Nathan Moriah-Welsh, a January addition from the English Premier League's AFC Bournemouth, in midfield at Dylan Levitt's expense.
  • English Championship side Sunderland's loanee Eliezer Mayenda made his first Hibs start in attack, replacing Élie Youan. Dylan Vente dropped onto the bench as Myziane Maolida returned to the starting eleven for the Hibees in the Highlands.

Prediction

  • Aberdeen and Hibernian's Scottish Premiership records are equal ahead of the two teams meeting at Pittodrie this weekend, both hoping to creep back into the top six like last season.
  • The Dons are sat in ninth, relieved to have taken a point at Pittodrie in a mental midweek match with Motherwell where they fought back from 3-0 down, but are hoping to salvage their season and ultimately try to replicate the remarkable run that they went on last year to end the campaign in third. Winless since the first week of January, Aberdeen will hope to start righting the wrongs of the campaign so far.
  • Hibernian are also stuttering in the Scottish Premiership, sat in eighth place before heading up north. Hibs haven't been victorious in the league since a sole goal success against Livingston - bottom of the league table - back in December, a week after beating Aberdeen at Easter Road. Their only wins since have come over lower league duo Forfar Athletic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
  • Two of the biggest clubs in the country go toe-to-toe this weekend with neither in the best of fettle, so a share of the spoils wouldn't be too surprising given both are winless in the league for quite a while.
