Team News

Istanbul Basaksehir
Fenerbahce
  • Deniz Turuc is expected to deputise for the injured Emmanuel Dennis.
  • Onur Ergun and Omer Sahiner is set to start in midfield as both Dimitris Pelkas and Mehdi Abeid are sidelined with injury.
  • Ousseynou Ba will deputise for the suspended Jerome Opoku.
  • Edgar Ie, who wasn't expected to start here, has been called up to the Guinea-Bissau team for the AFCON 2023.
  • Serdar Gurler, another non-starter, is injured.
  • Alexander Djiku is at AFCON 2023 with the Ghana national team and so Jayden Oosterwolde will continue to start at centre-back.
  • Nigerian right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel is also at AFCON, meaning Mert Muldur will start.
  • Miha Zajc, Miguel Crespo, and Luan Peres are injured but none were expected to start.

Prediction

  • Basaksehir shared the spoils with Karagumruk in a 1-1 draw last time out. Injuries to two of Atan's key midfielders hurt the young manager's plans but they could've still won the game had it not been for their poor finishing. Against Fanerbahce, Basaksehir will have even less possession than usual, and they will rely on quick transition plays to create chances here.
  • Fenerbahce suffered a shocking setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Samsunspor last time out. They created two dozen chances but were uncharacteristically profligate and wasted one clear opportunity after another. They will need to bounce back immediately as they are ahead of arch-rivals Galatasaray only by goal difference at the moment.
