Still not quite the free-scoring Liverpool defining most of Klopp’s tenure, but so far this has been a good step in the right direction with all to play for after the half. Atalanta’s defensive stance and press have been brilliant for the most part so far
Gasperini is not a very intelligent coach - that's exactly why Papu Gomez had to leave a truly magnificent Atalanta back in the day, when Atalanta was beating the hell out of even the likes of Napoli, Milan, Inter, and Roma. Gasperini wanted the entire team to defend at times to hang on to a slender lead, something that Papu Gomez and Josip Ilicic were not willing to do upfront. And I totally agree with them, because if you have an in form Papu Gomez, Josip Ilicic, and Duvan Zapata on your team, then plenty of goals can be ensured, provided that the team keeps playing attacking football. Gasperini has since transformed Atalanta into a defensive team and drove away not only Gomez and Ilicic, but also Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel. These are all excellent attacking people that Gasperini does not know how to use!
@Zoltan you are delusional. Palu was done at the highest level and Illicic had depression. Look at what Papu has done after leaving Atalanta, NOTHING! Now he's banned for taking illicit substances. Zapata was simply replaced with a younger model in Scamacca.

They were so scared of a truly weak Liverpool that they even forgot to entertain their own fans with goals!
