Both sides know who they could potential face in the next round of the Copa Libertadores should they get there. The group winner will face Penarol and the runner-up will take on Fluminense.
Huachipato know a win here would cement their place in the next stage of the competition, a draw however would mean they need to rely on Estudiantes doing them a favour at the weekend. Gremio have busy times ahead with plenty of catch-up to play. They know if they win here, they will progress to the next round. Last week, they enjoyed a 4-0 victory over The Strongest at home, before suffering a 2-0 loss against Red Bull Bragantino in the league. They will be desperate to avoid defeat here to give them a chance of progressing in their final match of the group.
