Team News

Dundee FC
Celtic
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made three changes from the Dee team that picked up a point at Pittodrie against Aberdeen in a goalless draw, before a second successive 0-0 draw against Rangers at Dens Park last midweek.
  • Owen Dodgson and Ricki Lamie entered the Dee's back four, replacing Aaron Donnelly and Antonio Portales. Jordan McGhee moved to right-back, as Joe Shaughnessy continued to captain the side.
  • Malachi Boateng came into a four-man midfield, replacing Dara Costelloe, and accompanied Luke McCowan, Mo Sylla and Lyall Cameron. Amadou Bakayoko and Scott Tiffoney were chosen to lead the line against Rangers last time out.
  • Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made two changes from the side that beat St Mirren 3-0 at Parkhead in their last Scottish Premiership match, before the Hoops secured a Scottish Cup final spot on penalties after a 3-3 draw against Aberdeen.
  • Liam Scales returned to the heart of the Celtic defence, accompanying Cameron Carter-Vickers, as he replaced Maik Nawrocki at the back. Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor continued at right-back and left-back respectively.
  • Club captain Callum McGregor replaced Tomoki Iwata in the middle of the park, to join Reo Hatate and Matt O'Riley. James Forrest came off the bench to fire Celtic in front in a Hampden classic on Saturday, so could push for a start in this one.

Prediction

  • Both Dundee and Celtic are looking to finish as high up the Scottish Premiership table as they can, the Dee aiming to better sixth and the Hoops hoping for a third consecutive league title.
  • Dundee will be playing their first top six match in the Scottish Premiership since 2014/15, after an excellent campaign. Back then, they had won promotion from the Scottish Championship the season before - 2013/14 - so have ultimately repeated the feat. Now it remains to be seen whether they could leapfrog St Mirren, as Kilmarnock in fourth are probably a little bit too out of reach.
  • Celtic booked their Scottish Cup final spot by the skin of their teeth, as they meet Rangers in Scotland's showpiece fixture for the first time since 2002. They'll hope to head into that match as champions of Scotland, aiming for a domestic double, but there are five fences which they must climb over to ensure that is the case. Simply put, this is the first of five fixtures they'll look to win.
  • Dundee have done remarkably well this season, but their record against Celtic isn't a particularly positive one and the Hoops are tracking down the title so should ease to victory here.
