Team News

Rangers
Dundee FC
  • Rangers boss Philippe Clement named two changes to the Gers team that swept ten-man Kilmarnock aside 4-1 at Ibrox, before a 2-1 defeat to Celtic in Saturday lunchtime's Old Firm has left them needing a miracle this midweek.
  • Leon Balogun hobbled off against Killie, but was unable to recover in time for the derby day defeat. His replacement was Ben Davies on the day, and he made way for the Welshman to enter the Rangers back four at the weekend.
  • John Lundstram will miss this match after being sent off at Celtic Park. The only other alteration saw Tom Lawrence replace Todd Cantwell, who joined Fabio Silva and Dujon Sterling in support of Saturday's scorer Cyriel Dessers up front.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made three changes from the Dee team that saw St Mirren clinch an impressive 3-1 victory at Dens Park, before the Dee were hammered by Hearts 3-0 at Tynecastle on Saturday.
  • Ryan Astley replaced Ricki Lamie, to join Antonio Portales and Aaron Donnelly in the Dundee defence in Edinburgh. Malachi Boateng took Mo Sylla's spot to sit between Luke McCowan and Lyall Cameron in midfield.
  • Jordan McGhee continued at right wing-back, whilst Owen Dodgson carried on at left wing-back. Michael Mellon took Scott Tiffoney's place to partner Amadou Bakayoko in attack.

Prediction

  • Rangers and Dundee will definitely play at Ibrox on Tuesday night, after both sides appear to have moved on from the Dens Park debacle last month.
  • The Gers saw their slim chances of winning the Scottish Premiership slip away on Saturday, as a third derby defeat to Celtic in the current campaign means that the Hoops just need a point away to Kilmarnock on Wednesday to seal a third successive league title. Should the hosts fail to win Tuesday's sole Scottish Premiership fixture, then Celtic will be crowned the champions of Scotland.
  • Dundee are winless in six Scottish Premiership games, as they've limped over the line to finish in the top six and haven't made their mark in the top half of the table. That shouldn't detract from a successful season, as finishing amongst the best in the country as a newly promoted team is no mean feat. However, their remaining fixtures don't get any easier as they look to pick up points.
  • Despite holding the hosts to a goalless draw at Dens in that controversial rearranged fixture, Dundee have lost twice against Rangers in the league this season and the Gers should cinch a third victory against the Dee on Tuesday night.
