Prediction

  • This match is one of two derbies to take place this weekend. There are mixed fortunes with both teams, despite both struggling. Arsenal seem to have picked up momentum under interim manager Renee Slegers, who could yet take charge full time. They won 5-0 against a Brighton team that has been flying high and now they sit in fourth.
  • Tottenham are further down in seventh and they lost 4-0 against current leaders Manchester City. Spurs have won only one of the nine matches against Arsenal but their sole win did come in this fixture last season with Martha Thomas scoring the winner in a 1-0 win.
  • Arsenal pair Kim Little and Leah Williamson could both make their 150th appearance in the WSL. Jordan Nobbs and Millie Bright are the only other players to reach that milestone for one club.
  • Spurs have conceded more goals than any other side in the WSL this season with 18, while only Crystal Palace (14.7) and Everton (12.7) have generated a larger xGA figure than Spurs (12.5).
  • It looks likely that Arsenal will continue their momentum under their current interim boss.
