  • Seriously Whoscored needs to stop scoring useless dribbles and other stats so much.. i love the Ox but he was terrible today, useless dribbling doesnt change that.. Gibbs, Sanchez and Ozil weren't particularly good either

  • @MiguelSuave- Yeah I agree on both fronts. It's one of the reasons Ronaldo and Messi constantly get above 8 even without scoring or assisting.

  • Surely Mertesacker was realegated to the bench after that dreadful CL perfomance.

  • @dib ** Good match for Gabriel Paulista

  • @dib- It was barring his first real involvement which was the botched pass back to Ospina. Koscielny looked shaky at times though. I think Mertesacker took too much of the blame for the defensive display against Monaco. The whole defence was terrible. Per was probably the worst but Laurent was poor, Bellerin constantly out of position and I don't remember seeing Gibbs in the defensive half. I think Mertesacker and Koscielny, in a good defensive system not an overly attacking one like we have atm, is our best partnership. Much is made of Per's lack of pace but pace isn't a pre-requisite for central defenders if you have good positioning. It is however difficult to position yourself in our system if you don't have pace so it's a surprise Mertesacker was ever signed.

  • Somehow chamberlain got the MOTM

  • nvm

  • ozilllllllllllllllllll

  • @levi22- Technically without the umlauts it's Oezilllllllllllllllllllll but we get the drift and thumbs up. Ha

  • Öziiiiiiil

  • This Arsenal side looks unexciting and are there for taking. Everton have fallen so far that they look even worse. You'd think things were only only going to get better after last season. Everton need to play with a different plan imo. Last season they played with high intensity but players now look tired and devoid of confidence.

  • @NotBiased- I don't disagree but I don't think it helps playing Sanchez on the left wing tbh. He is world class but doesn't have a left foot so right backs know he will have to cut in on his right foot every time when playing on the left wing. We've seen in a few games this season he's been frustrated and came inside more and more so that he's playing more like a wide number 10 than a winger. I'm a firm believer in playing the best players in their best position and that is the right wing for Sanchez. He has the quick feet and pace to go past any left back in the world. It's all too central with him on the left wing. There have been rumours of Layvin Kurzawa joining in the summer, we definitely need a left footer on that side so we can widen the pitch, pass the ball quickly and open up teams with a more expansive style.

  • @SteveHyland Sanchez needs some rest imo. Explains why he hasn't had the same impact in the last few games. He played over 50 times last season , then the world cup and has been carrying Arsenal for the most part of this season. Kurwaza from what I've seen is a bit of a nutter but talented. So its interesting, You could do with some passion and arrogance imo.

  • @NotBiased- He does and is still carrying a bit of a hamstring strain. If we had a winter break, he'd be fine but without it, he needs a good 3 or 4 game rest. Unfortunately he's already become such an important player for us so Wenger finds it impossible to leave him out and get the rest. We don't really have anyone who can come in for him unless he puts Chamberlain on the left and Walcott on the right. Kurzawa is a bit rash/hot headed at times and if he wants to be an Arsenal player will need to curb that in every game apart form those against Spurs. Ha. He reminds me of Bale when he first joined Spurs. Decent defensively, can tackle and is composed when backed into a corner, but who's attacking attributes far outweigh his defensive ones. He has started at left back in all the games I've seen him play at Monaco but the only position he'd get into our team is at left wing so that may be an issue. He also still loses the ball too easily and that's something he'll have to rectify.

  • @NotBiased lol I don't you want unexciting go check at old Trafford and wirh coach louis van longball

  • @MiguelSuave Most of the top teams don't play good football with freedom anyways. Man city can have some good spell so can Chelsea but poor in big games. Arsenal have the players to play some good stuff , and when they're confident they are good to watch but its not very often. Pool played well last season , now look uninspiring although getting better as compared to the start. Man U play crap football like they have done for some seasons. I think the only team in England that play good football with freedom is Derby County.

  • @MiguelSuave OT is the last place anyone would want to go if he wants to enjoy good football.

  • Whatever you do, don't download the new whoscored app for Ipad. They've totally ruined it. Huge text and so different from the regular whoscored.

  • And Özil with 13 touches so far.

  • @neumi17 2 assists

  • @Dadaist- He has the ability to impact a game without playing well and looking as though he isn't playing at all. He's playing in the 10 all the time now so hopefully he gets his confidence up and becomes the player he has the potential to be.

  • @neumi17 assist

  • Half an hour played and not a single approach towards scoring for the gunners. Oh boy...

  • @neumi17 panic much? :P

  • @Dadaist- After the Monaco game, he has a right to "panic". As it happens, we won without playing particularly well, a few good attacks but not the dominant performance we come to expect at home, which is better than losing when playing well which we've specialised in over the last decade.

  • That's over for us. We can't even keep possession at home now.

  • Arsenal is still pathetic. Can they please stop being clueless..?

  • i Hope Arsenal win the first half But ends with a draw :D

  • Arsenal played more useless game of the season against Monaco, this time they will be more tough at the back 2-0

  • @koziol.mutant- Nice prediction.

  • Win for Gooners. Against "Monaco" they played well but it was just unlucky day. I believe that "Arsenal" will win today and will prove their high team abilities

  • If Everton play like they did on Thursday and Arsenal like they did on Wednesday then this will be a routine victory for Everton. I'm going for a 3-2 Everton away win. COYB!

  • @kingpipi Look at the table, don't be deluded.

  • @What4 look at the table?

  • COYB

  • bench grandper, gibbs, maybe replace ozil with oxlade. anyway COYG!

  • We need to take revenge for last season. Arsenal 3 - 0 Everton. COYG!

  • Don't see everton nicking a point in this match

  • 2-1

  • Arsenal 3-2 Everton

  • What happened with WhoScored predictors? Is not a defeat against Monaco what will make Gunners lost against poor football of Everton. Both side have great squads, but indubitably the Wenger's soldiers are in a better form. Difficult game, but a win for Arsenal, 2-1.

  • Everton are the budget version of Arsenal. The same chronic issues in Wenger's ideology are apparent in Martinez's but we get away with it in most games because we have world class performers. Everton don't have a single WC player so I expect to win an error-laden game 2-1.

  • @SteveHyland For me Barkley is a World Class of Youth Players , ohh !! Lukaku He is awsome as well :)

  • @Logical- He has potential for sure. He has a forward thinking mentality, a great strike and an eye of pass. He just gives the ball away too much and his form is too extreme in the good and bad atm. He's only 21 though so plenty of time to develop. He needs to play regularly in the 10 though imo. Playing a young player in varying positions doesn't help their development and can actually hinder it.

  • @SteveHyland "we have world class performers"... lol Are you for real? One FA Cup win in 10 years does NOT make you "world class". Remember, that the same number of trophines tthat Martinez has won, and he did it with Wigan!!

  • @kingpipi- I don't disagree regarding our lack of trophies but you seem to equate the fact we don't have a world class team with having a dearth of world class individuals. We've had world class individuals over the last decade and will have Sanchez, Cazorla and Oezil in the team for this game. Alexis and Santi have been excellent this season apart form a few games at the begin and if anyone thinks Oezil doesn't have world class talent, they're a moron. You look at the reaction of all the great players in the Real squad when he was sold- particularly Cristiano Ronaldo- and you'll see what fellow players think of his talent. He has zero confidence though and he is obviously a confidence player. Regarding the lack of trophies, the fact is when you have a team playing than less than the sum of it's parts, it's the manager's fault and 2 or 3 world class individuals playing in a poor overall team wont be able to make them a winning one.
