Team News

Newcastle
West Ham
  • Mike Williamson is back after a two-match ban but after John Carver's comments with regards to the defender's dismissal against Leicester it remains to be seen whether he will be in the reckoning for this crucial clash.
  • The likes of Tiote, Haidara and De Jong are all likely to remain sidelined, while Papiss Cisse may have to make do with a place on the bench again after Emmanuel Riviere finally opened his account for the club last time out.
  • Winston Reid returned to action last weekend and it was good timing as James Collins was forced off against Everton and is a doubt.
  • Youngster Reece Burke could return to the side, while Kevin Nolan should be back in contention to face his former side having missed out last weekend due to a family bereavement.
  • The captain could return to the side at the expense of Carlton Cole, with Enner Valencia taking his place up front.

Prediction

  • Newcastle know that Hull must beat Manchester United if they are to have any chance of being relegated, but won't want to leave anything to chance, with a draw not enough to save them if the Tigers can win all three points.
  • John Carver's side ended a run of 8 straight defeats with a draw recently but then lost having taken the lead against a QPR side that were relegated the weekend previous and simply can't be trusted to see anything out right now.
  • West Ham don't have a great deal to play for but can still finish in the top half and, in what could be his last match in charge, Allardyce would likely love to get one over on his former employers.
