  • Rafa Benitez announced....god help us all

  • @Turan and this was the day.

  • Regarding Ancelotti, i think at this point there is no coach available that would manage the squad better and play more attractive football compared to the one Ancelotti showcased. Just like Di Maria being sold was a mistake, Ancelotti leaving now is in my opinion a mistake. Reports claim that Benitez is the most likely candidate to replace Carlo but i am not quite sure how he can bring stability. Because trophies are acquired by keeping the wins coming and not pulling off a great win against Barcelona and that dropping points elsewhere to eventually lose the title. What do you guys think?

  • @Turan well, its sad to see him go, but i wanted to see him leave. to me i did not see visible tactics throughout his tenure. he always played 4 3 3 and always had the same players. in a squad of 22 to have half the players play only 10% of all the games is unacceptable. yes granted we were on a winning streak but that doesnt mean rotating the odd player in 11 will mean a loss. especially in midfield. our bench had no nmatch fitness whatsoever. buying stars to sit them on the bench is rubbish. granted Ancelotti didnt have the final say, but his passive approach was not to my liking

  • Should have thought this earlier but oh well maybe people will come here like me. How about we share our thoughts and opinions here for the change of coach and transfers Real Madrid does during the summer?

  • Shameful seeing 20-odd dumbheads booing iker

  • The crowd booed on Iker, what a shame of fans..

  • @FenderThinline69 A big part of the crowd also cheered for him. GTFO

  • @Sinaj Well, was my comment supposed to mean ALL?? When I said THE crowd, it means a large number of it.. Was there a need to be specific? Whoever watched the game would notice that, wouldn't they? So, is there a need to be specific??? GYFAO!!

  • Casillas is a Madrid legend but had another poor game today, if Madrid want to catch up Barca they need a better keeper. De Gea would be the ideal choice.

  • Odegaard is pretty good for his age.

  • @asinko He seems to have the talent. If he works hard to improve then he has a chance of doing something.

  • Hopefully next year things are better and Bale get's back to his debut season form. I'm torn on whether we should keep Illarramendi... Aside from Casemiro we have no real DM on the team for next year.

  • Madrid completely focused on goal scoring without giving respect to defending. This match sums up their League position compared to Barca

  • @Rohit Getafe also did the same.

  • Madrid feared that if Ronaldo breaks Messi 50 goal record, then Messi Gona try to better this sooner or latter and Real's hope of winning La Liga will be under threat :-)

  • Odegaard is about the same age as most of the trolls on this site, come on guys... let's get along next season.

  • James is incredible. If Real somehow manage to get him, Bale, Isco, and CR7 working together they'll be something else. On a sidenote, I hope Odegaard gets a goal.

  • Top quality goalkeeping here I see...

  • @hindy He is acting like the other keeper who cp7 scored a free kick off...

  • CP7 can't get a 10 rating even when he scores a hatrick. Just goes to show football is more than goals. Messi can score 1 goal and get a 10 rating. According to whoscored, they take about 230 things into consideration while calculating ones score.

  • @Beastador Or maybe it shows the flaws in Whoscored's algorithm where a useless dribble can attribute to a .5+ rating. They've also displayed flaws in their moderator structure, seeing as though you still have an account.

  • @HalaMadrid12 Useless dribble? In this site, dribbling point is awarded when you PASS a player not doing a stupid cross over that is going nowhere. There is a reason why Ronaldo's total dribbles in a month is less than Messi's total dribbles in match. When you dribble pass a player, you literally open the entire opposing defense, but I'm sure you don't know that coz your fat ass probably never even play the sport.

  • It's official, Ronaldo is leaving Real this summer to work in Salvation Army. :D

  • I think Chicharito has earned a loan renewal or a permanent transfer if the fee is logical. He is working hard out there.

  • Bale not being subbed on and not starting this game can mean 2 things. Either he is injured or he might be on his way out, i hope i am wrong...

  • @Turan Isco is leaving too I guess.

  • @HalaMadrid12 Isco should not be allowed to leave, he is a quality player.

  • @Turan If he is injured he wouldn't be on the bench ...

  • @jesper True but sometimes they take players even if they have minor injury concers, like Benzema who before being fully fit was used and got himself injured in the Espanyol game.

  • Odegaard was born in 1999! Crazy...

  • @neumi17 1998

  • @KlaasJanHuntelaar Ok, 1998 Crazy !

  • @neumi17 To be exact end of December 1998

  • Lmao, Getafe are playing like it's a friendly. Stat padding for everyone

  • Ronaldo subbed out??? Why?

  • @KlaasJanHuntelaar I was as surprised you. But Odegaard should have his debut. They seem to trust this young boy from the norwegian fields rather than their own talents from La Fabrica ... But maybe he's good, maybe this young man can stand the pressure and become a star. Or maybe he's on loan in another club next season - like most af the talents from La Fabrica

  • We all know CP7 isn't happy about that, he wanted to beat King Messi's 50 goal record

  • @Beastador Yeah King Messi can suck it. 17 goals in one season of UCL

  • @Beastador Man, Ronaldo was taken off, cuz he had to help those children from the stands.

  • 55 mins and 0 dribbles

  • Amazing! 5 shots on goal = 5 goals

  • Why didn't Bale start?

  • @Beastador so jese could get playtime

  • Wow real on fire now

  • How many free kicks has James taken this season? he's been more efficient scoring on free kicks than Ronaldo. Proof Ronaldo is cancer to this team.

  • @Lechiffre10 He has just scored 3 goals including a free kick. Only took him about 21 tries though...

  • Why hasn't Chicharito been playing more? Could it possibly be because of Ronaldo's ego?

  • @What4 Because Benzema is better?

  • Barcelona 2-2 Deportivo Atletic 0-0 Granada Real 3-3 Getafe .. so far Its official the end is near

  • Strange, Ronaldo scored 3 goals but his mark is not even 9,0... Probably because he doesn't dribble.

  • Trophies are won mostly by teams with solid defence. Hopefully next year we will work better on our overall defending because its not our defenders fault that we conceded so many goals this season.

  • @Turan I agree. This defence is one of the best in the world. But it is conceding so much because of the natural attacking nature of the midfielders and forwards of this team. I think Bale,Kroos,Modric and Isco have really worked hard to improve their defensive side of the game which isn't their natural position. These players have sacrifised their personal interests for the team. But still its not good enough. I hope these players work a little bit more on defending as a team. And James has tried but not been up to the mark defensively this season. I don't think changing the players is required. I think these players can learn how to position themselves correctly and improve their defensive abilities over the course of this pre-season.

  • @Turan A team is also about morale. You can't have a good team when your diva would throw tantrum on the field like a little bitch.

  • Real ZERO dribbles at halftime...

  • Real ZERO dribbles at halftime...

  • @neumi17 Is the game about scoring goals or dribbling?

  • If only he could score this much or help teamates to score against the likes of barca, juve, valenica, atletico then madrid could have won more trophies

  • Jése is out of this match !! Isco or Bale to play this second half time !!

  • aw damn it if Barca hadn't of conceded 2 goals today, that would have meant RM conceded double the amount Barca had conceded all season. If the proper defence started today, they wouldn't have conceded. But they were resting, for the spanish cup final and CL final...unlike RM.

  • What a crazy game this is ...

  • Madrid are defending worse than Brazil here... painful to watch

  • @RedDevils Good in math? Brazil was 5-0 behind after 28. minutes.

  • 6 goals in 42 mins ? that's hilarious

  • rage of penaldo!

  • Remind me, why do they call him Penaldo?

  • @What4 They call him Penaldo because he DIVES so much for a penalty.

  • @What4 Because he is good at penalties? Personally I don't like it when people change names of these stars just because they think it's funny. Even stars are persons and a name is very personal. To make jokes out of their names is harrassing, I think, and mostly on the internet it's just plain dumb. His name is Ronaldo, we all should respect that

  • @jesper Well, now where we are talking about his actual name, it is Aveiro, not Ronaldo. (Personally, I find Aveiro much cooler!)

  • @What4 Because he scores his penalties instead of missing them or giving them away to other players in his team.

  • Omg goalnaldo is probably gonna score like 5 again

  • It doesn't matter how many goals Real Madrid hand Ronaldo on a plate, Messi has been much, much better this season. Fact, and everyone knows it.

  • @What4 why do you have to mention it than again?

  • @neumi17 You remember how Messi destroyed Bayern, one of the best teams in the world. Has Penaldo done anything similar this season?

  • 27 Hattricks 8 in one season that's a true Hattrickando

  • absolutely insane.. goal machine he is.

  • Ronaldo going for the 50 goal mark? He is carrying Madrid forwards right now

  • Ronaldo score an other goal and make haters cry hahah Hattrikando

  • @Mental_disorder Very important goals :')

  • @Mental_disorder that's true dude

  • let ronaldo get his pichichi and then sell him to PSG. He's a cancer to this team.

  • @Lechiffre10 and you showed yourself as you are infected !!! get the f**k out here !!

  • @Mental_disorder go f*** yourself. I've been a madrid fan for 14 years and he's disruptive to team chemistry. IF they can get 125million euros for him and build a strong team ( especially the defense) than they should sell him.

  • @Lechiffre10 2001 ? it doesn't change the fact !! go f**k out here !!!

  • Half time 1-1

  • @WillyWonka ooops

  • Ps raining here....Pichichi to Penaldo and PSG wants Penaldo?? PHa PHa PHa PHa.....

  • Real Madrid to win 10:0. Ronaldo to score 5 headers, a penalty and 4 tapins. There will be 5 free kicks. Ronaldo will hit Saturn, Earth's core, Orion and Pirlo in one man wall. The one left for Bale will be hit a crossbar. - Ronaldo celebrating his goals while others step away in shame. In other news, Xavi will lift La Liga trophy again. You know, the thing that only Mourinho can win against Messi, but only once ;) But, hey, sorry guys, I bet you are looking forward for another trophy in next 10 years. Pray to God, Messi doesn't last much longer, or no league trophies for your little club in years to come.

  • @blitz Your Saturn-hit made me laugh, you have a good homour - but on the other hand: Isn't this hooliganism of harsh anonymous words on the in internet a bit out of decade? Or millennium? Can we speak politely to each other no matter our club-references?

  • @jesper It was just a joke. Of course we can ;). When it comes to CR, I can't respect his antics, no matter how great player he is which is undeniable to any sensible person. But his attitude is very questionable. Cheers mate!

  • @blitz Agree on that. Great player, one of the best ever. Attitude? Arrgh ...:-(

  • @blitz I guess your mental condition has surpassed mine in not so bright way inadvertently.

  • @pulverizer I am happy for you :)

  • @blitz You are the kind of person and this is the kind of post that does not belong in whoscored community. Express opinion and arguements but not this.

  • @Turan I am sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? So I am not allowed to make fun of the rival team? In Barcelona, we hate Real Madrid. We used to respect it before, some of us at least, but we all this Cristiano nonsense I lost all the respect. That's my personal preference. You shouldn't be offended by that. I don't want to argue about that. It's how I feel. Raul scored, but we enjoyed watching him. We respect Casillas, We respect Zidane, etc.. But there's something about these Portuguese, they don't have respect. Not to mention how RM doesn't have selfrespect anymore. When I saw people wearing CR masks to support CR's Golden Ball campaign I was shocked. Compare Raul's era with CR's era please! Raul's era has more trophies, more honor, more chivalry and more respect. CR's era has more goals, less trophies, less respect, more hairgel, more nonsense. So if you say, I should leave the community just because you are hurt by my opinion, I say you are not a very intelligent man.

  • @blitz and if you consider yourself smart then you, i and everyone logical should seperate ourselves from the ugly side of supporting our teams by mocking and using foul language against our rivals.

  • @blitz What players do and how they act we can not control. On the other side, what you do and what you say, you can control.

  • @blitz We dont fear messi or barcelona at all. Eventually we'll subdue them.

  • @kummerspeck Bring it on :)

  • I'd like klopp as a refreshing and a rejuvenating change at Bernaneu. Carlo deserves a one more season but i dont see any upgrade from him as his methods seemed to be easily read out. But Perez has announced sacking of medical staff might insinuate Carlo may stay for one more season as he had depleted squad in crucial matches. Benitez is good coach but his defensive mindset might not be right for Real Madrid fans liking of quality attacking football. High-pressing attacking style only 1 guy is master at and with bale and cr7 at his disposal klopp will rule the world. I hope its Klopp for RM.

  • @commandozap No way. Klopp is to charismatic and hot headed for bunch of divas in Real Madrid. RM next coach is Rafa Benitez, I am sure of it. Not to mention Klopp always pointed out Messi as his dream player, you think CR would like that? No way. Rafa Benitez it is. Trust me. There's a small chance for Carlo to stay, but I already see Benitez there.

  • @blitz Klopp hates barcelona , he says he prefers hardcore heavy pressing football and clearly mentioned he would have switched to tennis if he would've seen barca play before. He doesnt like barca thats evident which makes him favourite despite his high pressure , inordinate pressing game.

  • @kummerspeck Hate might be too strong, but you are right. But I was talking about CR and LM

  • @commandozap I think the most refreshing would be a new president. One that plans a little further ahead than just the next season. One that doesn't buy last season's galacticos for galactic amounts of money just to position himself to the next president-election. RM needs a president who believes in the talents of La Fabrica and makes it a priority to bring them to the first team, even if it takes time - instead of selling them and spend a lot of money on expensive stars. In them old days RM could do that - but not now. Florentino is not the man - much to nervous for the next president-election.

  • @jesper What are you talking about? Next election? You need 89 million euros in your account to place your nomination and madridista official member since 30+ yrs to be presidetial nomination. No president can generate that amount of more than half a billion dollars RM generates because of Perez business skills. This is about survival and dominance buddy or you'd be an obscure entity like Nottingham Forest, Stade Reims etc. Also Liga doesnt enjoy massive telesion deals so its always difficult to compete with premier league clubs and hold that elite status among upcoming football stars. For eg - Who wants to play for liverpool or Ajax eventhough they hv more trophies than barca , united and as same as bayern? Even they qualified for CL they cant keep stars or attract stars because sqaud isnt competitive enough and there is no ambition magnetism despite their rich history. There is a reason every football player wants to play for Real or Barca. Major thanks to Perez & history!

  • @Tyrion_Lannister I respect your opinion, but I do not agree. IMO Florentino is a businessman, not a football man. He restored the club economic, I agree, and economic is Florentino's expertise (selling clubfacilities to the community was clever) . Now the economy is restored I think that RM needs another focus: football. Right now RM does not need to buy famous players just to sell merchandise - they need to build a squad that wins trophies (actually: they didn't win a lot in Florentinos periods). They need a president that will let the coach in on these transfer-decissions - now it's time to build the team. And I think it's time to watch in La Fabrica for the next Rauls, Gutis, Butragenuos etc. instead of setting tranfersrecords... What happened to "Zidanes y Pavones"? With Casillas' the last pavone is gone.

  • @jesper Without Perez there would be no money and no chance of dominance in europe. We would go bankrupt just like we did during Calderon's tenure. No coach shall go trophyless with such elite squad , Carlo did , so out of respect and gratitude towards him , i'd like a new beginning. The fact that real is richest club since last 5 yrs straight is because of Perez , he'll only make it right and he is much better than his first term. Have some patience and try to rebuff anti-madrid and pro-cule articles like AS.com, ESPNFC , catalan , french & english media publishes. They dont want us to succeed and never will. Hell with them! Hala Madrid

  • @commandozap Money, money, money... Without Perez RM will not go bankrupt. His expertise is economics, and now he's done his job. Now it's time to focus on football instead of selling merchandice. RM must win trophies in the next season. Drop the money-talk and focus on the pitch. Just my opinion.

  • @jesper We will.

  • " With second place already secure for Carlo Ancelotti's side, the Italian coach could rotate his personnel. " this is just funny !! rotate after 37 matchs played i wish that was early :(

  • Hearty thanks to Carlo Ancellotti for La Decima , indelible memories..

  • @Tyrion_Lannister Shortest memorial ever (but you are short, I watched you on tv... ) :-)

  • @Tyrion_Lannister don't say goodbye...

  • Imo Benitez rumour is a red herring or a smokescreen , we're chasing klopp or some hidden managerial candidate for sure.

  • @Tyrion_Lannister Benitez is a downgrade from Ancelotti, we should not go for him.

  • Bale representatives flew to Madrid to discuss long-term prospects as he wants to stay in Spain despite interest from Man United

  • @Tyrion_Lannister Bale is a really good player, it would be shame to sell him. He just needs to play on the left and he will surely perform.

  • Manuel Garcá Quilón, Benitez's agent: "The move to Real Madrid "for the moment", is "just a rumor."

  • @Tyrion_Lannister and we hope it stays that way

  • Ronaldo to score 5 tap ins. Nothing's gonna stop him. Beast mode unleashed.

  • @FenderThinline69 What a magical player. Maybe you'll call me crazy, but I see him even scoring a penalty today. I might push it over line if I say one of his missplaced shots might end up to be an assists too. What a destroyer.

  • @blitz Exactly mate... We CR7 fans don't even care if Real Modric, is that right? whatever the team is called... we don't care if the team doesn't win anything as long as CR7 is the best in the world.. GOAT!!

  • Or keep dishing to his teammates to rack up assists so he'll have the most goals and assists this season which would be really really awesome, like beyond human, out of this world..

  • I think i speak for many when i would like to see a 22man squad consisting of: De Gea-Navas,Danilo-Carvajal,Ramos-Nacho,Varane-Pepe,Marcelo-Coentrao,Kroos- proper Defensive Midfielder,Modric-Pogba/Verratti,James-Isco,Bale-L.Silva,Ronaldo-Jese,Benzema-Chicharito/Aguero/Lewandowski. Basically Casillas,Arbeloa,Khedira,Illaramenti to leave with De Gea,Danilo,Pogba,a proper defensive midfielder to arrive. Chicharito situation depending on Aguero/Lewandowski availability.

  • @Turan: Seems you don't speak for many with the expensive squad you suggest. Top players don't sign just to have a great of the match view from the bench - they want to play. Benching so many top players won't build a team, it will only create conflicts in the squad. Rotate every week? You won't have a team. A team needs a balance and a hierarchy to function. I think that RM's biggest mistake was skipping Di Maria to sign Bale. They have to be a bit more patient (I guess) instead of having a desperate president do signings of players they don't need. But that's just my opinion - I am no expert, just a fan.

  • @jesper Good point

  • @jesper You are kinda right i have to admit. The problem with fans is they only consider the team from the performance on the pitch point of view. Real Madrid has a higher plan then just winning trophies. They are trying to build an empire, become one of the strongest brands in the world. They buy expensive players not only because they will bring quality to the team, they buy them also because there will be an increase on the income from merchandise, ticket sales and many many more. That is why i suggest buying Pogba, even if he is not truly needed. De Gea and defensive midfielder situations are different, those we actually need to fortify our squad.

  • @Turan My comment "Good point" was aimed for you but WhoScored crashed as I wrote it - and in a funny way it ended as a comment to my own comment...

  • @jesper haha no worries!

  • @Turan Klopp or Benitez?

  • @Tyrion_Lannister Ancelotti. Otherwise Klopp.

  • @Turan and keeping the same starting eleven is pretty much the right thing to do. we don't need to change these players. These are the best in the world. And according to me we had a great season. We did not win trophies because of three reasons.Small minute details(like Ancelotti said in his post match conference),luck and injuries. There's nothing wrong with the players. They are brilliant. The understanding of these players has only improved over the course of last season. And I am sure that they will perform better next season. No need to change these players. It will only disturb this setup. And the most important that i don't want is Ancelotti leaving. He is the best manager in world. It will be stupid if we let him leave. A new manager will only make things tougher for the club. So the management and the players should be the same next season according to me.

  • @Turan we need a proper defensive midfielder who starts almost every game. because with current team(2 attacking full backs,3 attacking midfielders,3 forwards) our centre backs get exposed.but we cant help it coz no matter who we buy there are no players who can replace anyone of this front six right now. so we just need a defensive midfielder to rotate with Kroos. not a real starter. and Illarramendi is more than capable of doing that.So we don't need anyone in midfield department. We got Lucas Silva as well.In the forwards department the starters are fixed. Jese needs to stay and he will stay I guess.I don't think we need Lewa or Aguero. If they come then either Benzema or them will become surplus to requirements and eventually sold next summer. So basically I think nothing in this squad will change next season except goalkeeper and right back(if Casillas is sold or Danilo steals Carvajal's starting position).Other all 9 players are going to be same or maybe the whole starting eleven

  • @realmadridista I will agree with you and what you say makes sense.

  • @Turan I don't know why but i don't want Casillas to leave i think casillas and navas are good options for goalkeeping and no replacements are required there at right back the signing of Danilo means Arbeloa should be sold at left back Marcelo and Coentrao are great options but i don't know what the Coentrao situation is. I don't want him to leave but if he does we should either buy a new left back to rotate with Marcelo or keep Arbeloa at centre back i don't think anyone has any complaints these are three world class defenders and Nacho is also a good option as a utility defender i don't think any change is required in the front six this is the best front six in world football and with Isco on bench there's good option on the bench as well the only problem of this front six is they are not the greatest defenders you said that we need a proper defensive midfielder thats an incomplete statement

  • @realmadridista Legends such as Casillas deserve our respect and will always be remembered as incredible personalities. We never forget the likes of Zidane,Figo,Ronaldo,Carlos,Salgado,Guti,Redondo,Hierro,Morientes,Di Stefano,Gento,Puskas and so on... BUT... when they reach a certain point in their careers that they are not capable of performing to the desired degree, they should either retire or move to a different country for a few year before retiring...like Raul did. I believe Casillas has reached that point.

  • @Turan Maybe you are right. But I believe goalkeepers have a longer career in them than other footballers.Goalkeepers retire at 40 and sometimes even after that. But yea i am not sure but maybe Casillas has reached that stage.Maybe technically selling him is the right decision.Maybe I am a bit too emotional about him.

  • @Turan So basically RM have to buy Pogba, Aguero, Lewa, De Gea, and Verratti during summer? Wow.

  • @Beastador @Beastador No it means, they should try to buy De Gea to replace Casillas and Pogba or Verratti (one of them, not both) to rotate with Modric. IF and i underline IF Lewandowski or Aguero are available then perhaps one of them could replace Chicharito..... Thats a total of 2 or 3 players not the 5 you are suggesting.

  • @Turan Instead of spending another 100 million euro this summer, why don't they, you know, form some team chemistry? And why would Aguro or Lewa sit on the bench most of the season? Every summer RM spend so much money and yet they can't even beat their city neighbours, who can't even afford to spend a quarter as much as RM spend. Well, they scrapped past ATM once...

  • @Beastador You are not buying Aguero or Lewandowski to sit on the bench. There is a reason i didnt name more players and that reason is these 2 are the only forwards that i consider better then Benzema and are realistic options (Messi,Suarez are not). In other words you are buying them to fight for the starting spot and that you do so that the competition makes the players work even harder.

  • All throphies slipped out of RM-hands this season. Now there's only one task left: Giving the fans a fiesta on home soil in the last round of the campaign - and sending a clear signal: "We'll be back". And against Getafe? Maybe Ronaldo will break his own crazy scoring-record from the Granada-match ...

  • Enjoy playing Bale :) we trust in you :p

  • Benzema to set up 2+ tap ins for CP7.

  • @Beastador: Benzema is out due to injury. And who is CP7?

  • @jesper Cristiano Penaldo 7

  • @Beastador The name Penaldo is really getting lame...
