Team News

Swansea
Sunderland
  • Swansea have a clean bill of health coming into the welcome of Sunderland, with Alan Curtis expected to ring the changes for the welcome of Sunderland following the FA Cup loss to Oxford.
  • Andre Ayew may spearhead the attack for the Swans, with Bafetimbi Gomis dropping to the bench.
  • All in all, Curtis could name the same XI that came close to securing a positive result at Old Trafford.
  • Sam Allardyce is without injured trio Sebastian Larsson, Adam Matthews and Younes Kaboul for the trip to Swansea.
  • Jack Rodwell will be assessed closer to kick off, though is unlikely to pass a fitness test in time for the encounter.
  • The Sunderland boss could name the same XI as the one that secured a 3-1 win over Aston Villa last time out in the league.

Prediction

  • Swansea crashed out of the FA Cup on Sunday and their priority now is to secure their Premier League safety. Nevertheless, the Swans have lost only one of their last four league games, but need to start picking up points against relegation rivals with the south Wales side just two points above the bottom three.
  • Sunderland's 3-1 win over Aston Villa ended a run of five consecutive defeats and will have boosted morale ahead of this relegation six-pointer. The Black Cats have underwhelmed on the road this term, picking up just four points from their 10 games away from home this season.
  • Both teams will be keen to avoid defeat, but Swansea could nick a vital three points here.

  • 1 of Defoe's goals were offside and Naughton's red card was at best just a foul. Graham Scott needs to learn the only teams the officials should shaft in this league are anybody who plays Man Utd. Didn't get the memo obviously. Is this the first time a keeper has got an error leading to a goal and an assist in the same match, WhoScored?

  • Very good win for Sunderland.

  • It would be in my team's best interest if both teams draw. 1-1
