- Dick Advocaat will be without Adam Johnson who is ruled out for a further seven weeks with a shoulder injury. This game could mark the return of Jordi Gomez, however.
- Advocaat would be wise to ring changes following two abysmal performances that have left the Black Cats dead last.
- Sunderland's back four have been shocking and it would be a real surprise if Advocaat persists with the same defence that has leaked seven goals in their first two matches.
- Adam Matthews could be handed his full debut at right-back and Younes Kaboul, who was lambasted by Gary Neville on Sky Sports, could also drop out for John O'Shea.
- The Sunderland boss could be tempted to drop captain Lee Cattermole, who has the lowest WhoScored rating of player to have made two appearances in the Premier League (5.80). Jordi Gomez or Jack Rodwell could earn a starting berth on this occasion.
- Gary Monk would be wise to pick the same XI that excelled in their 2-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend.
- The Swansea manager's only temptation could be to recall Ki Sung-yueng to the starting fold. Ki missed their last outing with injury and is decision on his involvement will be made on Friday.
Swans are on fire... Not sure if Sunderland can survive this, or the season to be frank.
This is typical Sunderland for me, shyt at the beginning, sack manager half way through, go on incredible run and survive. 1-4
0-3 to Swansea with Montero as MOTM.
