Roy Hodgson is one of the managers on Crystal Palace’s shortlist as they step up the hunt to find Sam Allardyce’s successor, reports Sky Sports.
Allardyce sensationally quit his post as Palace boss on Tuesday evening and has laid out his plans to retire from management just five months after succeeding Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park.
Th 62-year-old manager worked wonders to help Palace avoid the drop as he oversaw seven wins in the final 13 Premier League games of the season.
Hodgson, who has been out of work since his dismissal as England manager following a disastrous Euro 2016 campaign, has not turned down the chance to get back into football management and could be approached by Palace in the coming weeks.
"I am not after a job but at the same time, I am not looking to turn down jobs," Hodgson is quoted as saying by Sky Sports at Monday’s LMA awards
"I am in a happy situation that if one day someone comes to me and says 'we would like you to take on this job' and I like the idea of it, then I would be more than happy to do it."
Hodgson also expressed an interest in taking over at Leicester City following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking in February, yet the Foxes instead opted to promote Craig Shakespeare to first team manager.
