Hernandez move in doubt after injury

Major League Soccer franchise Orlando City's proposed move for Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez is in doubt with the striker set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The United striker was forced off in Mexico’s draw with Honduras on Wednesday and it has now been confirmed the 27-year-old will miss at least the next three to four months with a broken collarbone.

Hernandez spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Madrid but the club decided against making the deal permanent, leaving the Mexico international looking for a new club.

The United forward rejected the chance to join Orlando in April, but the MLS side were confident they could now lure him to the States after planning talks with the players’ representatives.

Hernandez is looking for first-team football having spent the last five years mainly as a back-up striker. Hernandez has built a reputation as a prolific poacher and last season scored seven goals from just 18 shots on target in La Liga.
