Champions League Challenge next up in Fanteam and WhoScored partnership

For the first four weeks of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign, WhoScored focussed on informing users about Fanteam Fantasy Football’s unmissable €250,000 jackpot. We hope our tips and information helped you submit a solid team for the competition, which has now closed to new users.

However, things do not stop there for Fanteam Fantasy Football. Fully aware there would only be so many spots available in their guaranteed €250,000 prize pool, Fanteam Fantasy Football have opened several new ways to make money on their platform.

We have already touched upon one: €50,000 weekly monster. As the name suggests, this is a weekly tournament whereby users pick a dream team from eight nominated Premier League matches to have a chance of winning a slice of €50,000. There are only 2,777 spots available for this contest so don’t leave it too late or risk missing out until the next gameweek.

First place in the weekly monster for gameweek three pocketed €4,638.34 and they paid down as many as 333 places, with the last paid place earning €27.77. Even if you don’t have the best gameweek, there is still a chance to win some money.

The way your selected players rack up points is similar to other fantasy football platforms. Points are awarded for goals scored, with defenders and midfielders rewarded with greater points for scoring than attackers. Points are awarded for clean sheets all the way up the pitch until your forwards, while points are deducted for yellow and red cards, own goals multiple goals conceded and penalties conceded.

The weekly monster isn’t the only competition running on Fanteam Fantasy Football. They have also launched a Champions League Challenge, which focuses on the group stage of the competition with a prize pool of €100,000. Even though the group stage does not start until September 17, team selections and entires can now be made.

The rules for the Champions League Challenge are similar to their other contests. A fantasy team can not include more than three players from the same team and no more than 20 fantasy teams can be submitted per user. Once you have selected your team you will pick a captain and vice-captain. The captain’s gameweek points will be doubled and the vice-captain’s points will be doubled if the captain does not play. One free transfer is allowed each week and you can only bank a maximum of two free transfers at any one time. The budget to pick your team is €100M and if teams are tied at the end then the team with the most fund remaining will be crowned the winner.

In next week’s article we will focus on our selections for the Champions League Challenge, but it goes without saying to consider the likes of Lionel Messi and Liverpool’s front three. Until then, why not sign up here and start working on your fantasy teams!
