Mohamed Salah leads Liverpool quartet in Premier League Team of the Week

 

Liverpool dominate the Premier League Team of the Week after their 3-0 win at Manchester United, while Manchester City, Everton, Brentford, Southampton and Aston Villa are also represented. 

 

Alisson (Liverpool) - 7.87 

 

Liverpool may have smashed Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday but they needed Alisson to pull off a handful of stops to guarantee the clean sheet in a 3-0 win. Indeed, the Brazilian made three saves and one high ball claim to return a WhoScored rating of 7.87. 

 

Yukinari Sugawara (Southampton) - 8.11 

 

Southampton may have fallen to a 3-1 loss at Brentford on Saturday afternoon yet right-back Yukinari Sugawara put in a solid shift as evidenced by a WhoScored rating of 8.11. The 24-year-old scored late on for Saints, while he also made two tackles, including one last-man tackle, to feature.

Nathan Collins (Brentford) - 7.38 

 

Remaining in west London, Nathan Collins is good value for his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 7.38. Collins was on hand to make five clearances, two tackles and two interceptions as Brentford made it back-to-back home league wins to kick off the season.  

 

Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - 7.77 

 

The second of four Liverpool players to feature in the side, Virgil van Dijk was imperious at the back as the Reds claimed a fine 3-0 win at rivals Manchester United. The towering centre-back made 11 clearances in the victory, a record in a Premier League match this season, won four aerial duels and made two tackles and two interceptions to partner Collins with a WhoScored rating of 7.77.

 

Lucas Digne (Aston Villa) - 7.54 

 

Rounding off the backline is Aston Villa's Lucas Digne, who was key in their 2-1 win at Leicester on Saturday. The Frenchman provided the assist for Jhon Duran's second half strike, that coming from his only key pass, while the 31-year-old also made five tackles on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.54. 

 

 

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 9.28 

 

Mohamed Salah maintained his superb record at Manchester United with a goal and two assists at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Reds star's brace of assists came from from three key passes, while he beat Andre Onana in the second half with one of three shots. An additional two successful dribbles saw Salah land a WhoScored rating of 9.28. 

 

Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) - 8.17 

 

The first of two Manchester City representatives, Kevin De Bruyne was unfortunate not to contribute to a goal in their 3-1 win at West Ham on Saturday evening. The Belgian managed six key passes and fired off six shots, hitting the woodwork with one, to secure a spot in the middle of the park with a WhoScored rating of 8.17.

Dwight McNeil (Everton) - 8.03 

 

Partnering De Bruyne in the middle of the park is Everton's Dwight McNeil. The Toffees threw away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Bournemouth on Saturday, though McNeil was one who could walk off the Goodison Park pitch with his head held high. The winger provided an assist in the eventual defeat, that coming from six key passes, and he completed two dribbles to return a WhoScored rating of 8.03. 

 

Luis Diaz (Liverpool) - 8.16 

 

Rounding off the Liverpool quartet is wing wizard Luis Diaz, who continued his superb start to the Premier League season. The Colombian got the better of Andre Onana with both first half shots at Manchester United on Sunday. One dribble and one tackle capped a fine showing that saw Diaz earn a WhoScored rating of 8.16. 

 

Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 9.53 

 

With a WhoScored rating of 9.53, Manchester City hitman Erling Haaland is once again our Premier League Player of the Week. Haaland bagged his second hat-trick of the season as City beat West Ham 3-1, netting with three of five shots, while two tackles and one key pass helped the Norwegian to another individual WhoScored accolade. 

 

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton) - 8.26 

 

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was directly involved in both Everton goals in their eventual 3-2 loss to Bournemouth, following up his assist for Michael Keane with a goal of his own midway through the second half. Those came from respective returns of one key pass and two shots to help the Toffees striker to a WhoScored rating of 8.26.
