David de Gea (Manchester United) - 10.5 points
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) / Ashley Barnes (Burnley) / Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) – 11 points
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) / Harry Kane (Tottenham) – 12 points
Mohamed Salah was the only player from the opening round of Premier League fixtures to score and assist. The Egypt international scored Liverpool’s second goal in a 4-1 win over Norwich and then assisted the club’s third goal, which Virgil van Dijk converted.
Harry Kane helped Tottenham come from behind to beat Aston Villa on Saturday with a late brace to secure all three points for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. The England captain had eight shots in total, with his two goals coming in the final four minutes of the match.
Erik Pieters (Burnley) – 13 points
Erik Pieters was far from one of the most exciting summer signing conducted by Premier League teams but the former Stoke left-back certainly had a Burnley debut to remember. The Clarets stunned Southampton 3-0 on Saturday and Pieters helped himself to two assists in the win. Pieters assisted both of Ashley Barnes’ goals and helped Burnley keep a clean sheet with seven tackles.
Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) - 14 points
Riyad Mahrez has a real opportunity to nail down a regular first-team spot this season now Leroy Sane is out for up to seven months with knee ligament damage and he got his season underway with the ideal display. The Algeria international registered two assists in Manchester City’s 5-0 thumping away to West Ham on Saturday and had three attempts on goal of his own.
Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) – 19 points
Raheem Sterling became the first player since Didier Drogba in 2010 to score a hat-trick on the opening weekend of a Premier League campaign, converting his treble in added time against West Ham on Saturday. The England international scored three times from four shots on target, even won two aerial duels.
