Gameweek One

Manchester United were expected to come away from Paris empty-handed, but, for the second time running at the Parc des Princes, Marcus Rashford struck late on to secure victory for the Premier League side. Bruno Fernandes put United ahead from the spot midway through the first half after his re-taken effort beat Keylor Navas. An Anthony Martial own goal drew PSG level early in the second half before Rashford bagged the winner three minutes from time to earn a 2-1 win.

RB Leipzig enjoyed a slightly more straightforward evening last week, securing a 2-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir courtesy of an unlikely goal source. Former Manchester City left-back Angelino netted twice in the first half for the German side and the game was effectively over as a content by the break as RB Leipzig restricted their Turkish counterparts to just three shots on target.

Team News

Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard are both ruled out for the home side, but the pair are Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's only injury concerns. Anthony Martial should start alongside Marcus Rashford on the frontline, while Axel Tuanzebe, who impressed in Paris last week, is expected to feature as Solskjaer considers going with a three-man defence once more. However, Victor Lindelof and Alex Telles haven't been included in the squad so miss out.

Amadou Haidara tested positive for COVID-19 last week and won't feature here, while Lukas Klostermann, Nordi Mukiele and Konrad Laimer are all sidelined through injury, leaving Julian Nagelsmann short of right-back options. As such, Benjamin Henrichs is set to feature at right wing-back. Yussuf Poulsen and Dani Olmo were both rested at the weekend and should return in attack.

Key Battle - Harry Maguire vs Dayot Upamecano

Champions League team news and prediction: Man Utd vs RB Leipzig

After a stuttering start to the season, Harry Maguire has looked a more solid performer in recent weeks having played a key role in meetings with Newcastle and Chelsea, scoring against the former and aiding in keeping a clean sheet against the latter. Having missed the win in Paris last week, the England international will hope to maintain his recent good form in his first Champions League appearance of the campaign.

Things could have been so different for Dayot Upamecano, who was linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer before penning a new deal with the German side. The Premier League side remain keen on the France international and for good reason. The 22-year-old has made a fine start to his domestic and European campaign for RB Leipzig and his stock will rise further should he keep the United offensive at bay tonight.
