Top transfer round-up - January 18th: Chelsea could miss out on Paredes while Sancho going no where
Here we run through the latest rumours and round-up the possible movers dominating today’s gossip columns.
Chelsea offer Hudson-Odoi mouthwatering new deal
Chelsea have offered Callum Hudson-Odoi a new contract that could pocket the 18-year-old up to £75,000-a-week.
Hudson-Odoi has entered the final 18 months of his current £22,000-a-week deal and is keen to join Bayern Munich.
The German side have already had four bids turned down by Chelsea and are determined to land the teenager winger as part of a mass-squad overhaul.
Chelsea are desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi and are willing to make him one of the best-paid teenagers in the world despite the fact he is yet to start a Premier League game.
Sancho not for sale, say Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund have no plans to sell Jadon Sancho at the end of the season.
Sancho has been a revelation for Dortmund this season and totally vindicated his decision to leave Manchester City 18 months ago.
There have naturally been rumours of a big money return to the Premier League for the 18-year-old but Dortmund plan to keep Sancho for the long-term.
Sancho’s stunning rise to prominence has pushed Christian Pulisic to the fringes and even convinced Dortmund to cash in on the 20-year-old.
Sancho has played a direct hand in more goals than any other teenager in Europe’s top five leagues this season (13).
Paris Saint-Germain to hi-jack Chelsea’s move for Paredes
Paris Saint-Germain have bid €35m for Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes.
The Argentina international is free to leave Zenit this month for the right price and has already been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have had two bids rejected by the Russian giants and are now taking their time before deciding whether or not to sign the 24-year-old.
However, they now risk missing out on the Zenit midfielder as PSG have entered the race in a bid to solve their own midfield issues.
Since the start of last season, only two players have won possession in the middle third more times than Paredes in the Russian Premier League (155).
Rodriguez staying at Bayern amid Arsenal links
James Rodriguez will see out the last six months of his loan deal with Bayern Munich before making a decision on his long-term future.
The Colombia international has not always been first choice under Niko Kovac this season and there were suggestions he could head to Arsenal for the remainder of the season.
However, it has now emerged that Rodriguez intends to finish the campaign with Bayern, who have an option to make his move permanent in a deal worth €42m.
Since the start of last season, Rodriguez is making a key pass more frequently (every 25.6 minutes of action) than any other player to have made at least 20 appearances in the Bundesliga.

AC Milan agree personal terms with Piatek
AC Milan have moved a step closer to signing Krzysztof Piatek after agreeing personal terms with the Genoa striker.
Milan have made Piatek their top transfer target as they plan for life without Gonzalo Higuain for the second half of the season.
Higuain is on his way to join Chelsea and Milan now only need to agree a fee with Genoa to sign the Poland international.
Only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) has scored more goals than Piatek (13) in Serie A this season.
Manchester United set for Mata contract talks
Manchester United will hold contract talks with Juan Mata’s representatives over a new deal this weekend.
Mata’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants United to hand the Spaniard a new deal.
The former Spain international is not a first-team regular for United and the club are keen to reduce his current £170,000-a-week pay packet.
Mata has started three of Solskjaer’s six games in charge of United and scored one goal in that time.
Cardiff sign Niasse from Everton
Cardiff announced the signing of Everton striker Oumar Niasse on loan for the rest of the season on Friday lunchtime.
Niasse has been pushed to the fringes under Everton manager Marco Silva but will now hope to kickstart his season for Cardiff.
Neil Warnock is also closing in on Nantes striker Emiliano Sala in order to bolster his offensive options for the second half of the season.
Since August 2016, only Olivier Giroud (12) has scored more goals than Niasse (7) as a substitute in the Premier League.
No bids for Wilson, says Bournemouth boss
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe insists the club have not received any offers for Callum Wilson this month.
The England international has been in sublime form for Bournemouth this season and been linked with January moves to Chelsea and West Ham.
Both London sides are in need of a new striker but Howe insists no side have made a formal approach for the 26-year-old.
Wilson is already enjoying his most productive Premier League season (14 goals and assists) and there are still 16 league games left to go.
