Liverpool dominate Premier League team of the month after perfect February
Liverpool were the only Premier League team to return a 100% record in February, scoring 12 goals and conceding just one in their four matches. Unsurprisingly, the Reds dominate the WhoScored team of the month with no fewer than five Liverpool players featuring. Title rivals Manchester City are also represented, as are Tottenham, Southampton, Burnley and Everton.
Jordan Pickford (Everton) - 7.41
Jordan Pickford may have kept just one clean sheet, but Everton would have been in a far trickier predicament were it not for the England number one. Only Illan Meslier (28) made more saves than Pickford (23) last month as he kicks off the team of the month with a WhoScored rating of 7.41.
Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton) - 7.69
The first of two Southampton players to make the cut, Kyle Walker-Peters was excellent in February, as noted by his fine WhoScored rating of 7.69. He got forward well from defence, completing 15 dribbles - only Dwight McNeil (18) completed more - and was one of four players to win multiple man of the match awards.
Joel Matip (Liverpool) - 7.71 rating
Joel Matip is the first of five Liverpool players to make the WhoScored Premier League team of the month. The centre-back scored his first goal and provided his first assist of the season in February, those coming in home wins over Leicester and Leed. Matip also ranked fifth for accurate passes (304) to make the XI with a WhoScored rating of 7.71.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) - 7.56
Matip's Liverpool centre-back partner Virgil van Dijk also makes the cut on account of his superb WhoScored rating of 7.56. The Dutchman made the fourth most accurate passes (316) in England's top tier in February and, like Matip, got on the scoresheet in Liverpool's thumping 6-0 win over Leeds.
Joao Cancelo (Manchester City) - 8.06
Manchester City may have seen their lengthy winning run ended by Tottenham in February, but Joao Cancelo was again superb for the defending champions last month. Cancelo ranked third for dribbles (13) in February, while 18 tackles and interceptions combined was also a respectable return to help the full-back to a WhoScored rating of 8.06.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 7.91
Once again, Mohamed Salah secures a place in the Premier League team of the month as he became the first player to register double figures for both goals and assists in England's top tier this term. Salah could have had more than one assist to his name in February having ranked among the top 10 for key passes (9) to help yield a WhoScored rating of 7.91.
James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) - 7.78
The second Southampton player in the side is captain James Ward-Prowse. The England international played a key role in Saints' 3-2 win over Tottenham last month, registering a pair of assists in north London. Ward-Prowse's two assists came from 13 key passes - only Bruno Fernandes (18) made more - to feature in the middle of the park with a WhoScored rating of 7.78.
Josh Brownhill (Burnley) - 7.65
Partnering Ward-Prowse in the middle of the park is Burnley's Josh Brownhill. The 26-year-old scored his first goal and provided his first assist of the season in February, those coming from respective returns of eight shots and 10 key passes. Meanwhile, only Hassane Kamara (22) made more interceptions than Brownhill (17) last month to help earn a WhoScored rating of 7.65.
Luis Diaz (Liverpool) - 7.99 rating
Luis Diaz has made a stunning start to life with Liverpool and makes the XI on the left with a WhoScored rating of 7.99. The Colombian may have scored just one league goal in February, but it wasn't for want of trying as he managed 12 shots. Diaz also ranked highly for key passes (8) and successful dribbles (11) to cap a fine first month in England.
Harry Kane (Tottenham) - 7.76 rating
No player had a direct hand in more Premier League goals than Harry Kane (4) in February as the Tottenham striker looked back to his best in a Spurs shirt, winning the WhoScored man of the match awards in wins over Manchester City and Leeds. February also saw Kane, along with Son Heung-Min, become the best goalscoring combination in Premier League history as the Tottenham star features on the frontline with a WhoScored rating of 7.76.
Saving the best for last, Sadio Mane is the Premier League player of the month having earned a WhoScored rating of 8.29. No player scored more goals than Mane in February, a month in which he garnered his first perfect 10 rating in a Premier League match for Liverpool.
