With the 2019/20 Champions League season soon to be upon us, either Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich will head home from Portugal victorious, while the other will be end a seemingly never-ending campaign heartbroken.

For the elation of winning the grandest prize of all in club football, defeat can often be hard to recover from. Since the turn of the millennium there have been 15 different players - when excluding penalty shootouts - to enjoy the euphoric high of scoring a goal in the Champions League final, only to end up on the losing side.
