Liverpool leap into top ten teams in European form rankings
After yet another convincing win at the weekend, Liverpool are now among the top ten teams in Europe’s top five leagues based on performances over their last six top-flight matches.
Jurgen Klopp’s side hit four past West Ham at the weekend, with goals from each of their fearsome front three once more after Emre Can had put the Reds ahead at Anfield. The victory saw them climb a full 12 places up to ninth and ahead of Premier League rivals Tottenham and Manchester United in the process.
That said, the latter also jumped up four spots into 16th following their crucial win over Chelsea on Sunday, but Spurs and Manchester City - who didn’t feature in league action - each dropped on place respectively, with the former narrowly getting past Crystal Palace.
Moreover, there is a new leader in the form guide with Real Madrid looking something close to their best once more after fourth consecutive victory, this time thrashing Alaves 4-0. They take the place of PSG at the top who are down five despite an excellent win over Marseille owing to the fact that their 8-0 rout over Dijon last month is no longer taken into account.
Following said defeat OM drop a massive 12 places to 17th, with La Liga duo Barcelona (third) and Atletico (fourth) up into the top five after big wins over Girona and Sevilla respectively.
Elsewhere, in Italy AC Milan’s charge under Gennaro Gattuso continues (up two to 13), Napoli are into the top ten having smashed Cagliari 5-0, Juventus are second, while Roma, Atalanta and Lazio’s presence makes Serie A the best represented league in the top 20.
