Toney leads Brentford contingent in Premier League form rankings

There is a new leader atop the WhoScored form standings, with stalwart Kieran Trippier dropping out of the top three altogether. Brentford are the dominant side in the rankings with four representatives, while players from Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal also make the cut.

10. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) - 7.33

A three-game winless run, which includes defeats to Everton and Manchester City, has seen Arsenal drop to second in the league table, and while Bukayo Saka netted in the loss to the latter in midweek, he has tumbled down the form standings to 10th. This is due to a sub-par showing on Wednesday, which has pushed an impressive display at Brighton on New Year's Eve out of contention.

9. Ben Mee (Brentford) - 7.35

The first of four Brentford players to feature in the form standings leaderboard, Ben Mee has proven a solid addition to the Bees backline and he has risen to ninth in the standings with a form rating of 7.35. Brentford have only conceded two goals in Mee's last six league outings, a run that includes a goal in the 3-0 win over Southampton earlier this month.

8. Ethan Pinnock (Brentford) - 7.41

Mee's partner at the back for the Bees, Ethan Pinnock has moved up to eighth in the form standings with Brentford a far more daunting proposition with the 29-year-old in defence. Five of Pinnock's best rated performances this season have come in his last six appearances, with Thomas Frank's side more difficult to break down with the Jamaica international featuring.

7. Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 7.44

Bruno Fernandes has endured a minor dip to his form guide rating, dropping 0.01 to 7.44 from last week, with the reasoning being his performance against Leeds at the weekend pushing out a solid display against Bournemouth. Nevertheless, with others impressing, Fernandes falls to seventh on the leaderboard.

6. Karou Mitoma (Brighton) - 7.46

Another to drop down the leaderboard, Brighton were unfortunate not to beat Crystal Palace last weekend owing to a controversial VAR call, but the 1-1 draw with the Eagles marked a poor, by his recent high standards, showing from Karou Mitoma. The Japan international failed to directly contribute to a goal in the stalemate, though he still boasts a fine form rating of 7.46.

5. David Raya (Brentford) - 7.48

The third Brentford player in the standings drops one place to fourth. David Raya's clean sheet run ended at three games at the weekend as the Bees held then-league leaders Arsenal to a 1-1 draw. Up against goalshy Palace on Saturday, Raya is expected to shut the Eagles out on home turf, though this performance will push a superb showing against West Ham out of the reckoning, so it may be that he drops further down the top 10.

4. Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) - 7.54

The biggest drop in the top 10 is by Kieran Trippier, who falls from first to fourth on the leaderboard. An underwhelming performance from Trippier against Bournemouth at the weekend means his form rating has dropped from 7.75 to 7.54. This is because the showing against the Cherries pushed a man of the match performance at Leicester on New Year's Day out of the reckoning, while he may fall further if he fails to perform against Liverpool on Saturday.

3. Rodri (Manchester City) - 7.56

Rising up into the podium positions. Over his last six outings, Rodri has put in both his best and his worst rated performances of the season as the Spaniard excelled against Aston Villa, yet flattered to deceive in defeat at Tottenham. Nevertheless, Rodri has again showed why he is considered one of the best in the business in his position, reflected by a superb form rating of 7.56.

2. Ivan Toney (Brentford) - 7.58

The fourth and final Brentford star to feature in the form standings is Ivan Toney. The Bees striker has risen from ninth to second having put in a superb showing in their 1-1 draw with Arsenal last weekend. Indeed, Toney scored against the Gunners and won 12 aerial duels in the stalemate, a record in a Premier League match this season, to propel himself up the leaderboard.

1. Solly March (Brighton) - 7.72

Rising back into top spot of the WhoScored form rankings is Brighton star Solly March. March won his fourth WhoScored man of the match award of the season at Crystal Palace's expense as he hit the back of the net for the fifth time of the 2022/23 campaign. As such, the Seagulls winger has returned a form rating of 7.72 as Brighton continue to shine.
