Top tip treble with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in action
With a trio of matches to look forward to in the Premier League, we’ve picked one top tip from each in an attempt to find the best value treble from today’s action.
Burnley vs Chelsea - Both teams to score
Chelsea travel to Turf Moor looking to bounce back to winning ways after a drop off in both form and intensity in recent weeks, drawing three of their last four Premier League games. The Clarets, meanwhile, suffered a heavy defeat to Manchester City last time out and will want to avoid a similar blow to their confidence back at home, and this should certainly be a tighter affair than that at the Etihad.
Indeed, Burnley’s physical style has cause Chelsea problems in the past, and Manchester United’s superiority in that regard last weekend was something that Maurizio Sarri eluded to post-match. Today’s hosts have found the net in six of their last seven meetings with the Blues, scoring exactly one goal in all four of their Premier League encounters at Turf Moor.
Sean Dyche’s side are 2.62 with Coral and Bet Stars to score exactly one goal again, but there’s enough value on the safer bet of both teams to score in this one, over evens with most bookmakers.
Crystal Palace vs Arsenal - Arsenal to win
The Gunners trip to Selhurst Park is quite closely comparable to that of Chelsea’s to Burnley by way of recent meetings at today’s venue. The North Londoners have had the better of the head-to-head record south of the river, winning four of the last five, but Palace have scored in each of the last four of said meetings.
Where the thinking differs here, however, hinges on the fact that Roy Hodgson’s side have yet to score a single league goal on home soil this season, failing to convert any of their 55 shots across four matches so far. The one encouraging factor for the Eagles is that Arsenal have had to go to Azerbaijan and Portugal to keep a clean sheet on the road thus far, failing to do so in the league, but Unai Emery’s side are flying right now.
With that in mind my tip for this one is straightforward, with a good enough price on an away win to boost today’s treble.
Manchester United vs Everton - Both teams to score in the second half
It’s no secret that Manchester United have struggled to get out of the blocks in matches in recent times, with five matches passing since they last led a match at half-time. They’ve tended to need to go behind to spark some sort of reaction out of the players, but this week’s opponents Everton have been slow starters themselves of late.
Between the two teams’ last five matches apiece, they have scored just one first half goal, so there are multiple angles to look at in terms of finding the best value for this game. The second half being the highest scoring is certainly the safest and still offers very reasonable odds, but we want to boost this treble into double figures.
A 0-0 scoreline at half time is very tempting at 3.32 with Marathon Bet, but I’m more confident that both teams will score in the second half at a similar price (3.25 with multiple). Seven of Everton’s last eight goals have come after the break - and ten of 15 in total in the league - while each of United’s last six have also come in the second 45.
