WhoScored's European Team of the Week: Jude Bellingham, Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez, Bryan Mbeumo
Real Madrid hero Jude Bellingham makes the European Team of the Week following his heroics at Valencia on Friday night. Manchester United, Roma, Parma, Saint-Etienne, Bournemouth, Brentford, Lille and Fulham are also represented in the best XI.
Zion Suzuki (Parma) – 8.52
Parma came away from their meeting with Torino with a positive result thanks to Zion Suzuki’s performance between the sticks in Turin over the weekend. The Japanese shotstopper returned a WhoScored rating of 8.52 having made four saves, three high ball claims and two aerial wins to kick off the European Team of the Week.
Alexis Saelemaekers (Roma) – 8.49
Roma claimed the bragging rights in the Derby della Capitale with a 2-0 win over rivals Lazio on Sunday night. Alexis Saelemaekers was the star performer for Claudio Ranieri’s side having been directly involved in both Roma goals, providing the assist for Lorenzo Pellegrini’s opener with his only key pass before the Belgian doubled the home side’s advantage in the 18th minute with one of two shots on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.49.
Mickael Nade (Saint-Etienne) – 8.69
The first of two Saint-Etienne players to make the side, Mickael Nade provided his first assist of the season in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Reims, that coming from his only key pass in the home success. 10 clearances, five interceptions and two tackles helped Les Verts to all the spoils and Nade to a WhoScored rating of 8.69.
Lisandro Martinez (Manchester United) – 8.16
Partnering Nade at the heart of the defence is the first of two Manchester United players in the side. Lisandro Martinez scored his first league goal of the season as United secured a commendable 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Sunday evening, getting the better of Alisson with his only effort. The Argentine also made four clearances, three tackles, including one last-man tackle, and three interceptions to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 8.16.
Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth) – 8.11
Rounding off the defence is Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who earned a WhoScored rating of 8.11 for his showing in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Everton. The Hungarian provided the assist for David Brooks’ second half winner with one of three key passes, while the 21-year-old impressed off the ball, too, making three interceptions and two tackles against the Toffees.
Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) – 10.0
With a perfect WhoScored 10 rating, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is the European Player of the Week. Mbeumo was directly involved in three of the Bees’ five goals in their 5-0 win over Southampton, netting with two of four shots and providing one assist from five key passes in a stand out display.
Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid) – 8.63
Jude Bellingham went from Real Madrid villain to hero in Friday’s 2-1 win at Valencia. Bellingham missed a second half penalty at the Mestalla, but made amends with the assist for Luka Modric’s equaliser before coming in clutch with a late winner to secure all the spoils, those coming from respective returns of two key passes and three shots.
Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) – 8.55
Joining Bellingham in the middle of the park is the second Manchester United representative in the XI. Bruno Fernandes put in a fine showing in United’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool over the weekend, providing the assist for Lisandro Martinez’s opener with one of four key passes. Fernandes also completed three dribbles and made three tackles to justify his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 8.55.
Remy Cabella (Lille) – 8.40
Featuring on the left flank in the European Team of the Week is Remy Cabella after he returned a WhoScored rating of 8.40 in Lille’s 1-1 draw with Nantes. The 34-year-old was unfortunate to not contribute to a goal in the home stalemate having struck the woodwork with one of four shots and provided four key passes on home turf.
Lucas Stassin (Saint-Etienne) – 8.73
Lucas Stassin put in his best rated display in Ligue 1 this season as Saint-Etienne beat Reims 3-1 on Saturday. Stassin struck with one of three shots and provided an assist with one of two key passes as the Belgian earned a WhoScored rating of 8.73.
Raul Jimenez (Fulham) – 8.71
Linking up with Stassin on the frontline is Fulham striker Raul Jimenez after he bagged a brace in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich. The Mexican scored with two of six shots against the Tractor Boys, while seven aerial wins and three dribbles helped Jimenez to a WhoScored rating of 8.71.
