Kevin De Bruyne drew Manchester City level with a cross that worked its way past Keylor Navas and the Premier League champions-elect completed the comeback with 20 minutes remaining as Rihad Mahrez tucked a free-kick past the Costa Rican. Idrissa Gueye received his marching orders with a little over 10 minutes to play, his second in the Champions League this season, and he misses tonight's second leg as a result.
Team News
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola once again has a fully fit squad to select from ahead of tonight's second leg meeting with PSG. Guardiola made sweeping changes from last week's win in Paris for their 2-0 win at Crystal Palace over the weekend and only two players who started the victory at Selhurst Park - Ederson and Rodri - may keep their place in the side for tonight's encounter. Oleksandr Zinchenko, who provided the assist for Kevin De Bruyne in France, could replace Joao Cancelo at left-back.
Idrissa Gueye is suspended after his late red card last week, with Danilo Pereira and Ander Herrera battling to replace the 31-year-old in the middle of the park. However, Mauricio Pochettino is sweating on the fitness of talisman Kylian Mbappe after he missed Saturday's 2-1 win over Lens with a calf problem. Mbappe has travelled with the squad and he will be assessed, with Neymar and Mauro Icardi potential deputies to lead the attack. Juan Bernat is ruled out for the away side.
Probable XIs
Manchester City (433) - Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Zinchenko; Silva, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden
PSG (4231) - Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Bakker; Herrera, Paredes; Di Maria, Verratti, Neymar; Icardi
Key Battle: Riyad Mahrez vs Neymar
Riyad Mahrez has proven to be the man for the big occasion for Manchester City in the knockout stages in the Champions League. Indeed, the Algerian has had a direct hand in four goals in the competition this season, scoring two, and those have come in his last four outings against Gladbach, Borussia Dortmund and PSG. After a man of the match showing last week, he'll look to follow that up tonight.
However, Neymar comes into the second leg tie on the back of a star man performance against Lens to maintain PSG's title push. The Brazilian scored one and assisted another and he may lead the attack in the potential absence of Kylian Mbappe tonight. The Brazilian has provided just two assists in the competition in 2020/21, but both came in PSG's last away Champions League outing, that a 3-2 win at Bayern Munich last month. That result would be enough to secure a second successive final spot for the Parisian powerhouse.
Score Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 PSG
