Football INDEX: Tottenham star among those worth investing in
Football INDEX is the world’s first football stock market where you can buy and sell shares in footballers with real money. Football INDEX offers fans a chance to bet on the future success of football players compared to short-lived outcome of betting on football results.
Intrigued by what Football INDEX has to offer, but unsure whether to gamble your money? Football INDEX offers customers a 7-day risk free period where they will refund any deposits made within the first seven days of the first deposit, up to a total of £500. Think of it as a trial period where you will effectively have up to £500 to play with during your first week of trading.
After going over the highest risers earlier in the week, here we pick out our five to buy ahead of the weekend’s action. It’s an attackers special coming into the first full round of fixtures this month, with a Premier League ace topping the list…
HEUNG-MIN SON - TOTTENHAM (BUY)
Heung-Min Son was left out of the starting XI for Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace last weekend, despite his impressive record against the Eagles, but returned to the first team fold for Spurs’ FA Cup win over Rochdale on Wednesday night. Son didn’t disappoint either, scoring two and assisting one.
His evening was overshadowed by hat-trick hero Fernando Llorente, whose WhoScored rating (9.85) saw him pip Son (9.71) to the man of the match award. However, after a blip, Son looked back to his best on Wednesday night and is set to be a key man for Spurs in the run in. A buy price of £1.36 per share on Football INDEX could prove to be a shrewd investment in the South Korean star.
STEVAN JOVETIC - MONACO (BUY)
He may have started life in Monaco slowly, but Stevan Jovetic has rediscovered his goalscoring touch, with three of his five league goals netted this season coming in his last two top-flight outings. With Keita Balde and Falcao potentially ruled out of Monaco’s meeting with Bordeaux tonight, the Montenegrin could prove a solid pick up at £0.94 per share on Football INDEX.
Bordeaux have been resurgent since Gus Poyet took over the reins, yet remain far from solid at the back. Just two clean sheets in the last five matches, suggests a lack of defensive solidity and Monaco will hope to capitalise this evening. Jovetic may have failed to score at Stade Louis II in the league this season, but he has the means to correct that against Bordeaux and with his buy price below £1 still, don’t miss this chance to add the 28-year-old to your portfolio.
ANGEL DI MARIA - PSG (BUY)
Remaining in Ligue 1, and this time with runaway league leaders PSG. Neymar’s ankle injury sparked a huge increase in value in Angel Di Maria, with the Argentine set to deputise for his Brazilian teammate between now and the end of the campaign. Despite limited action, seven goals and five assists is a commendable return for the winger, who can be confident of regular game time between now and May.
His buy price has been steadily increasing over the last month, but he’s not out of anyone’s league in terms of investment just yet. At £1.86 per share on Football INDEX, though, that window is rapidly closing and it’s best to get in on the act sooner rather than later. With ample game time in a rampant PSG side, that figure is only set to go up - invest now!
JURGEN LOCADIA - BRIGHTON (BUY)
Brighton seem to have turned a corner at just the right time in their bid to stave off relegation, winning four of their last six competitive outings. A thumping 4-1 win over Swansea last week saw them move four points above the relegation zone and they’ll hope to extend that when they welcome out of sorts Arsenal to the AMEX on Sunday.
Jurgen Locadia made the move to the Seagulls in January and while arrivals in the winter transfer window may struggle to adapt, the 24-year-old seems to have transitioned with ease. He’s scored two goals in two appearances so far and you wouldn’t bet against him making it three from three against the Gunners. With a buy price of £0.84 per share on Football INDEX, the 24-year-old is one to look into.
CENGIZ UNDER - ROMA (BUY)
Roma’s hopes for a top-4 finish stuttered last week as they fell to a surprise 2-0 home loss to a rejuvenated AC Milan. Things don’t get much easier for the capital outfit this weekend either as they travel to Naples to face league leaders Napoli. Maurizio Sarri’s side have impressively won their last 10 league matches and have lost at home just the once this season, that to title rivals Juventus back in December.
Roma have lost just one of their last 19 away league matches and landed a 3-1 win over Napoli in this fixture last season. They’ll need to be at their best to upset the odds on Saturday night and will look to new fan favourite Cengiz Under to provide the goal threat once more. The 20-year-old has scored five and assisted one in his last five competitive Roma appearances and still boasts a lowly buy price of £1.33 per share on Football INDEX, which is certainly appealing.
