Manchester City back on top in European team form rankings

There have been some big changes in the team form rankings leaderboard this week, with a familiar name returning to the summit, while Barcelona have dropped out altogether...

10) Burnley - 7.04

They may not be out of relegation trouble just yet but a 3-1 win at Brighton certainly eased the Clarets’ concerns, stretching their unbeaten streak to seven matches - the longest in their Premier League history.

9) Borussia Dortmund - 7.04

They may have thrown away a three-goal lead to draw with Hoffenheim at the weekend but Dortmund are up one this week having played some superb attacking football early on.

8) Real Madrid - 7.05

Santiago Solari’s side keep their place in the top ten following a fifth consecutive league win at the weekend in the derby with Atletico, though their rating was only modest following on from an excellent score against Alaves.

7) Juventus - 7.05

Back on the leaderboard having returned to winning ways against Sassuolo, Juventus strengthened their stranglehold on the Serie A title race as Napoli dropped points in Florence.

6) Atalanta - 7.06

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have dropped down the rankings slightly despite winning at the weekend, doing so the hard way having had to come from behind against SPAL, stretching their unbeaten streak to six matches.

5) RB Leipzig - 7.06

Last week’s leaders are down four places having dropped two points against Frankfurt, although Ralf Rangnick’s side did keep a third consecutive clean sheet in the league.

4) Roma - 7.08

The highest climbers this week having bounced back from two draws with a convincing 3-0 win at Chievo, Roma are now unbeaten in six, winning four and scoring 15 in that time.

3) Paris Saint Germain - 7.14

Thomas Tuchel’s side may have recovered from their defeat to Lyon but a 1-0 win over Bordeaux was far from PSG at their best. Nevertheless, they’ve now won five of their last six in the league following back-to-back draws.

2) Bayer Leverkusen - 7.16

The highest risers this week, straight in at second, B04 were in rampant mood against Mainz on Friday night, with a 5-1 victory their fifth in six matches.

1) Manchester City - 7.26

Back on top after a sensational performance and 6-0 victory against Chelsea, City have recovered from a shock defeat at Newcastle in some style and now have 18 goals in their last six league outings.

QUALIFYING RULES

Only ratings taken from each player’s last six league matches are considered, weighted chronologically, with the most recent match carrying greater importance and so on. To qualify each player must have featured in their side’s last league game and started at least six of the last eight available.
