DraftKings: Avoid Manchester United players in this week's Golazo contest

DraftKings have the advantage in the competitive market of fantasy football. Rather than focus on the season-long slog, instead you pick a new team every week to win big cash prizes. Indeed, this week we’ll be entering our team into the $15k Golazo contest from Saturday’s six Premier League matches.

Entry is just $3, which is a small price to play with a share of $15k up for grabs, with first place landing $2.5k. New to DraftKings? New users earn a $20 bonus when they deposit $5 to use in any of the cash games, which is certainly an appealing sign up offer, that’s for sure!

DraftKings have paid out more than $750,000 to users on their first-paid contests and more than $5 billion across all sports. Good at fantasy football? Then this is definitely the game for you.

DraftKings: Avoid Manchester United players in this week's Golazo contest

Below are our tips for the weekend where we pick eight players - one goalkeeper, two defenders, two midfielders, two forwards and one utility player - from a $50k budget.

Goalkeeper - Joe Hart (BURNLEY vs Huddersfield) $5,300

Following a disappointing start to the season, Burnley have turned their fortunes around in fine fashion winning back-to-back league matches to pull away from the drop zone. Crucial to their turnaround has been the form of Joe Hart, who has made more saves (34) than any other goalkeepers in Europe’s top five leagues. Against a Huddersfield side that has scored just three goals in seven matches this term, fewer than any other Premier League team, and none from open play, Hart is a must-have this week.

Defender - Ben Mee (BURNLEY vs Huddersfield) $3,400

In the absence of James Tarkowski, there will be more pressure on Ben Mee to shoulder the defensive burden alongside Kevin Long at the heart of the defence. As with Hart, a clean sheet should be on the cards for Mee and Burnley against goal-shy Huddersfield.

Defender - Jonny (Crystal Palace vs WOLVES) $5,200

Jonny’s confidence will be high after his Spain call up this week and he’ll look to continue his and Wolves’ good form at a Crystal Palace side that is yet to win a home game this season. Utilised as a wing-back under Nuno Espirito Santo, the Spaniard gets forward where possible and after netting his first Premier League goal last time out, he’ll look to round off the final round of fixtures before the international break with another man of the match performance. Wolves have conceded just one goal in their last four league outings, so Jonny is well worth considering for your DraftKings side.

Midfielder - Erik Lamela (TOTTENHAM vs Cardiff) $7,200

In the absence of Christian Eriksen, there is greater onus on Erik Lamela to provide the creative spark in the final third for Tottenham. The Argentine has quietly gone about impressing for Spurs this term having had a direct hand in every club outing this term, scoring four and assisting three. Against a Cardiff side that has conceded the joint-most goals (16) in England’s top tier this term, Spurs should have no problems in dispatching of the Bluebirds this weekend with Lamela expected to be central to their attacking efforts.

Midfielder - James Maddison (LEICESTER vs Everton) $8,500

James Maddison earned a deserved England call up this week as he continues to adjust to the rigours of Premier League football with ease. The Leicester star has had a direct hand in a goal in five of his seven league outings this season, scoring three and assisting two. He’s made more key passes (15) than any other English player this term and against an Everton side that has won only three of their last 30 away games, Maddison should have a key role to play against the Toffees.

Striker - Kelechi Iheanacho (LEICESTER vs Everton) $6,200

He may have struggled to nail down a regular starting spot following his arrival from Manchester City, but Kelechi Iheanacho is set to start in Leicester’s welcome of Everton to help support Jamie Vardy in attack. The Nigerian has scored one and assisted two in his liming time on the pitch for the Foxes this season and is a cheaper alternative to some frontmen for your DraftKings side.

Striker - Troy Deeney (WATFORD vs Bournemouth) $6,100

Watford were somewhat unfortunate to lose to Arsenal last weekend and back on home turf, they’ll hope to return to winning ways against a Bournemouth side that is impressing under Eddie Howe this term. Stopping Troy Deeney will be easier said than done in the Cherries’ efforts to put another three points on the board, with Deeney scoring four goals in his last four home league outings with Bournemouth.

Utility - Ryan Fraser (Watford vs BOURNEMOUTH) $8,000

One of Bournemouth’s key men in their fine start to the campaign is Scotland international Ryan Fraser, who has created more clear-cut goalscoring chances (7) than any other Premier League player this season. Fraser has scored three and assisted two goals for Bournemouth this season and he’ll look to continue his flying start to the campaign at Vicarage Road this weekend.
