Goalkeeper - JOEL PEREIRA
Jose Mourinho has asked for Crystal Palace to have mercy on his youngsters on Sunday, which should mean Joel Pereira will have a very busy afternoon on his first ever Manchester United start. The 20-year-old will still have a strong defence in front of him and if he can live up to Mourinho’s early hype, then Pereira could prove the bargain buy of the weekend.
Defender - ERIC BAILLY
Staying with United, one of those defenders in front of Pereira will be Eric Bailly. The Ivorian defender is suspended for the Europa League final and will one of few United regulars that starts on Sunday. He has been immense in his first season at the club and should have a good battle on his hands up against the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Christian Benteke. Given Bailly is proactive in his defending, there should also be plenty of points on offer.
Defender - JOEL MATIP
Liverpool contest one of few competitive matches on the final day of the Premier League season and they will be looking to end on a high against already relegated Middlesbrough. Jurgen Klopp’s side have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 matches and should have no difficult keeping another against the league’s lowest scorers. Matip has also proven a goal threat this season and bonus points could be available.
Defender - JOHN TERRY
Talking of goals, there has been no greater goalscoring defender in the Premier League era than John Terry. The veteran centre-back is expected to start his last ever game for Chelsea on Sunday when the Premier League champions host Sunderland and will be looking to add to the goal he notched against Watford on Monday. The 36-year-old has now scored in 17 consecutive Premier League campaigns and could net in back-to-back games here. Given Sunderland have failed to score in 14 of their last 17 matches, a clean sheet is also on the cards.
Midfielder - GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM
Liverpool know a win will secure them Champions League football next season and often the man for the big occasion has been Georginino Wijnaldum this term, scoring in matches against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal. In fact, all 16 of his Premier League goals have come in home matches and Klopp would be delighted to see his new signing add another in their biggest game of the season on Sunday. They dazzled against West Ham last time out and should do so again up against a terrible Middlesbrough outfit. The Dutch midfielder is a Yahoo! Fantasy Football top-20 in form player at the moment, so he has the momentum coming into this match.
Midfielder - IDRISSA GUEYE
Everton’s away day woes are expected to continue again this weekend when they travel to face Arsenal so Gueye can expect a very busy afternoon as the Gunners chase a top four finish. However, that doesn’t necessarily spell bad news. Given Gueye has completed the most tackles and interceptions combined in the Premier League this season (216), he could pick up a lot of points as the man tasked with breaking up Arsenal’s attacks. Given the manner in which they pummelled Sunderland last time out, Gueye will be one of Everton’s busiest players
Midfielder - KEVIN DE BRUYNE
Manchester City also need a win to secure a top four finish and Pep Guardiola will hope Kevin De Bruyne can continue his fine form. The Belgium international has won the WhoScored Man of the Match award in 5 of his last 7 matches and is rightly one of the top-20 in form players in Yahoo! Fantasy Football. Only Emil Forsberg (18) has registered more assists in Europe’s top five leagues than De Bruyne (16) and he should add to that hefty return against a really poor Watford side on Sunday
Midfielder - PHILIPPE COUTINHO
It was easily Philippe Coutinho’s best performance of 2017 and he will be looking to end the season with a bang after scoring twice and registering one assist in their thrashing of West Ham last time out. Playing as a deeper No.8, we have perhaps been offered a glimpse to Coutinho’s future position at Liverpool and Klopp will be hoping for another magic performance when they play Middlesbrough. A win will secure them a top four finish and Coutinho is primed to deliver.
Utility - ALEXIS SANCHEZ
It’s not hard to imagine where Arsenal would be without Alexis Sanchez this season. The Chile international’s future might still be uncertain but he is finishing the campaign like a player who still wants to give everything for the club. No player has had a direct hand in more league goals than Sanchez this season (33) and while finishing the campaign as top goalscorer now looks beyond him, he can still fire Arsenal into the top four against an Everton side he scored against earlier in the season
Striker - SAM VOKES
The Burnley striker is quietly enjoying a purple patch of form over the last few games of the season. He has been named the WhoScored Man of the Match in each of his last two matches and has scored three goals in that time. The Clarets will be looking to end the season in front of their home fans on a high and the Wales international only needs one more goal to reach double figures for the first time in a top-flight campaign in his career. West Ham are winless in their last six away matches and it already looks like their players are on the beach.
Striker - FERNANDO LLORENTE
The former Juventus striker has finished the season very strongly and his goals have been crucial to Swansea beating the drop. He now is just one goal shy of reaching 15 goals in a single league campaign for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign and he should be confident of doing so against a West Brom side that have ran out of steam since March - winless in eight matches. Llorente has scored in three of his last four and is primed to do so again here.
