Team News

Bournemouth
Stoke
  • Benik Afobe has been ruled out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury picked up in their 1-0 win over Sunderland last time out.
  • With Callum Wilson also sidelined, Eddie Howe will start Joshua King up front on Saturday and this could benefit Junior Stanislas who has failed to force his way back in the side since recovering from injury.
  • Dan Gosling won't be risked this weekend which should mean Lewis Cook is fine to start in midfield on Saturday.
  • A late decision will be made on Jonathan Walters after he trained on Thursday following a spell out with a knee injury, while Saido Berahino is struggling with illness.
  • Mark Hughes may have to turn to Peter Crouch if neither of the aforementioned duo are fit to start against Bournemouth.
  • Stoke haven't won since switching back from a back three but Hughes may have to persist with a 4-2-3-1 formation if Crouch starts.

Prediction

  • Both sides reached the 40 point mark last weekend and can begin to plan for next season with relegation out of the question. However, for Stoke, Mark Hughes will hope he is still part of that future following what has been a thoroughly underwhelming season thus far.
  • Stoke are winless in their last six away matches in the Premier League and haven't even scored a single goal in that time. Bournemouth, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency all season but have at least won three of their last four home games.
  • The Cherries came out on top in the reverse fixture and should be confident of doing so again this time around against a very poor Stoke side.

  • Stoke will score and it can be away wins exchange between teams, 1-1 or 1-2

  • Stoke needs to win here.

  • I cannot predict anything other than a King goal and a Bournemouth win. Joshua King is having the season, and the time, of his life. Can he score yet again in a home win?

  • Stoke win

  • Bournemouth 1 - 0 Stoke
